2nd visit in 3 months

Posted Aug 31, 2015
Pros: Very central to Chinatown and Light rail. The Pumphouse serves a good meal and the staff are great
Location: Loads to do, Paddys Market, Food Galore, Public transportation near by
We found staff to always be very helpful, friendly and courteous, however, the noise from the street was quite loud and the traffic noise starts early due to the local construction. The bed was comfy and somehow the hotel managed to eat my husbands sunglasses. Where the went to is anyone's guess. Overall not bad stay.

Nice hotel in good location

Posted Aug 31, 2015
Excellent location for exploring Sydney, 5mins from the beautiful Darling Harbour. The hotel was nice, staff very friendly and helpful, the only fault was although the bedrooms were comfortable the decor was a bit dated and they really need to get rid of the horrible carpets

Pros: Great location. Staff helpful and polite. Room comfortable and clean.
Arrived late afternoon, check in was quick and staff were polite and helpful. Car was valet parked and always brought at time requested. Breakfast was nice, room was comfortable and clean. Location is also a plus, within walking distance to Chinatown, Darling Harbour and numerous other restaurants around the area. Will happily stay there again.

Cons: The hotel needs to be refurbished. Very outdated.
We were put in a room on the second floor that was right next to the main road so we were unable to sleep for 2 nights because of the noise.

it shows its age

Rooms are small, no bathrobes, hard to find a PowerPoint to connect kettle, can't turn passage light off without plunging room into darkness, this was not a workmanship deal so I expect clean sheets each day, the vacuuming was shabby and passage paint work sloppy. The breakfast was very good and pleasant. We asked for a taxi to be booked and they did not do that!

Comfortable hotel in great location

Posted Aug 15, 2015
Located next the Chinese Gardens, Chinatown and Darling Harbour. Good buffet breakfast for $30 per person or $22 if purchased on check in. Valet parking $45 per night or public parking 200m up the street at $35 per night. The Pumphouse bar/restaurant has a range of craft beers and gourmet pub food. Fairly noisy environment and for some reason they insisted on keeping the front door open in Winter which made it chilly in some areas. Check opening times - not open after 11pm on Saturday. Hotel recommended for comfort, service & location.

Great location

Posted Aug 12, 2015
Modern hotel close to Darling Harbour and Chinatown. Walking distance to many attractions, light rail & ferry. The Pumphouse is next door serves an impressive range of craft beer, gourmet pub food but can be noisy. Closes before 11pm on Saturday night for some reason. Many very good restaurants in Darling Harbour but avoid Meat & Wine Co as it is overrated and experience. For cheaper option, Chinatown is just across the road. There is construction work next to the hotel that looks like it will go on for a while as this is the site of thenew convention centre. there was no noticeable noise in the hotel from this activity but there were discounted prices wh we ooked. Valet parking is available at $45 per night which is pretty good for this area or you could park in a public car park 200m up the road for $35. There is a good buffet breakfast $22 if purchased at check in or $30 if purchased at the cafe.

Convenient

Posted Aug 10, 2015
Pros: Convenient location.
Cons: The cleaning staff service.
Location: Good location near the harbour and shopping. About half an hour walk to the Circular quays for the ferries and the Sydney Opera House.
The location is good, near the harbour and Chinatown and shopping area. The room was small for three people, needed to ask to have the bathroom cleaned and bedsheets changed and the bathroom supplies replenished.

Across the road from qantas credit arena

Was not what I booked. Don't feel that this hotel was 4.5star quality. Average room with average amentities. Paid for breakfast, after waiting for 15 minutes to get a staff member, not even a table, we left without eating. Staff seemed unorganized.
