Short walk to circular quay thru botanic gardens. Well equipped gym. Great choice and quality of food on doorstep. Friendly and extremely helpful staff. Perfect getaway!

Excellent hotel and location.

Pros: The location, interior design and staff were superb.
The staff were exceptionally good. The location at Woolloomooloo Wharf is fantastic and interior design utilising the old working wharf shed with the new interior is very well done.

Close CBD waterfront

Posted Apr 27, 2017
I decided to stay in a few hotels in my city to update myself on what was good/bad or indifferent. The check in and valet parking was excellent staff very pleasant. It was a public Holiday so went for dinner at restaurant on the wharf that the hotel is on. On return 10pm we though a digestive would be nice before going to bad and sample the atmosphere if the hotel. I went to the bar and asked for a drink, to be told they did not have any of that and the bar was closed. The drinks were locked in some sort of mesh. When I asked if he was serious its 10pm he said OK you can have a wine or beer, we didn't want either so we left and went to our room. The Night manager stopped us on the way and asked if he could help. We told him the story, he relied, well its quite and tis a public holiday. He called us in our room to offer an alternative which we accepted but the damage had already been done. Its a great space and funky but I don't think I could put my corperates in if they cant get a drink when the come back after a long day.

Perfect Sydney weekend getaway

Posted Apr 25, 2017
Pros: Great location for a holiday/romantic weekend; architecturally interesting being situated within an old wharf building; laid back, stress-free vibe
Cons: Housekeeping sometimes at least can come in the late afternoon, so room was not done and towels not replaced by the time we returned from a day out.
Location: Plenty of dining options with restaurants along Cowper Wharf. Walk to Lady Macquarie's Chair, Royal Botanic Gardens, Circular Quay, The Rocks, etc.
The Ovolo was the perfect choice for a weekend visit to Sydney to see Handa Opera's performance of 'Carmen', located only 15 minutes' walk from Fleet Steps. Although our room was not quite ready by check-in time, we got an upgrade to a loft suite so the short wait in the comfortable and funky lobby was well worth it. Service by all staff, from reception and concierge to housekeeping, was very responsive and friendly. The two-level suite was comfortable and clean, with complimentary minibar and amenities. A slew of restaurants along Cowper Wharf and across the road meant there was no shortage of options for any meal within a very short stroll. It was an easy walk, especially in the glorious Sydney autumn weather, through the Royal Botanic Gardens to The Rocks and Circular Quay to catch a ferry to Manly. Nearer still is Lady Macquarie's Chair and the world-famous view of the Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge. A quick Uber ride took us into the CBD. In short, a great base to explore some of Sydney's best attractions.

Inclusions not included

Posted Apr 17, 2017
Having stayed at this hotel previously which was booked via my travel agent and directly with the hotel, my recent stay at the Ovolo ended in frustration and disappointment as the happy hour drinks and breakfast are not included when you book via Expedia, I could accept this if the rate was lower, but it was exactly the same as the hotel website WHY?

Hi Andrew, Purely due to commissions costs when you book via a website like expedia who take a share of the rate. Hope this helps, David

Great hotel, close to everything you need

Posted Apr 17, 2017
We loved our 4 nights at the Ovolo! A lovely, large comfortable room with a great view. Book online and receive a lovely breakfast and drinks and canapés each day for free, lots of nice little touches and outstanding attention to detail, but the best part are the happy, helpful and fun staff. Well Done Ovolo

Pros: The comfort and the inclusions
Fantastic hotel, facilities are incredible and so much included - you literally just need to pack some clothes and Ovolo think of the rest for you. We would def recommend and would stay again!

Room had nice view of navy yards. Room was quiet and peaceful. Had a slight problem with a leak in the bathroom but the staff were on it the moment they were informed and cleared it up quickly. The staff did everything they could to make my stay comfortable and enjoyable. The bed was the most comfortable I have ever slept in in any hotel. I would recommend this hotel on the comfort of the bed alone.

Hi There, I am sorry you felt disappointed. We charge $55 per night for valet parking which for Sydney is quite a low price. Car parking in major cities is unfortunately a high cost. It is something we also advertise on our website so there are no surprises or hidden cost. Regards, David Sude General Manager
