Cons: We dined at Rydges restaurant. Service from kitchen terrible. One hour wait for two entrees. Chef needs to multi task! Felt embarrassed for waitresses
Hotel was good. Dined at restaurant on site. Ordered two entrees and waited one hour to be served. I thought it was embarrassing for the waitresses as it wasn't busy. Would never dine there again. But liked the location of hotel.

Rydges hotel expectations not met! Tired & old.Posted Oct 24, 2015
- Booked Rydges North Sydney as closest available accommodation to suit access to Kirribilli wharf for an event accessed by boat. - Taxi from airport found the place OK (but may have ripped us off with add ons not applied by others). Taxi service to and from the hotel was best feature. - Check in at the hotel did not indicate our Expedia booking of a harbour view room. That corrected, we may have got last available, but view across harbour areas east of and not including Fort Dennison (our event destination) was restricted by a newer, bigger building adjacent. - on arrival, we were a bit disappointed with the hotel bar and restaurant area which was dark and had 60's styling and showed age. A drink at the bar later served the dregs of an ? Old bottle for a glass of wine - the room was dark and had original 60s or 70s decor. Bathroom floor waste was loose and sharp to a bare foot; other people's hair left on a bench; loose windows on 9th floor rattling in the wind all night - room service though prompt with menu from downstairs restaurant was letdown by ordinary items from lunch menu, though basic breakfast was ok though expensive - our evening at the harbour venue was excellent

Poor quality for price.Posted Oct 5, 2015
The hotel was nice, but for the price quite lack lustre and certainly undeserving of 4 stars.

Great locationPosted Aug 31, 2015 on Hotels
Stayed one night to attend a function at Luna Park which suited as was only 10mins in a taxi. Got a great deal and for what I payed absolutly no complaints. Never really stayed on the north of the harbour, always in the city but after my stay will return, Rydges is in a great location to explor this area further.

Quite good (as per expectations) other than a random 5:30am phone call to the room on a Saturday morning.

Not a good optionPosted Aug 25, 2015 on Wotif
Pros: Location to the office in North Sydney
Cons: Its just a bit tired and raising prices in line with demand for Sydney CBD availability is not appropriate if the hotel is at a [much] lower standard.
Location: Few restaurants around. Only consider this hotel if you need to be in Nth Sydney
$350 - $400 for this place is way overpriced. A tired 70s/80s hotel with very ordinary rooms. Water pressure is a joke [trickle]

great comfort, great locationPosted Aug 24, 2015
Pros: comfortable, the location was great and the staff were incredibly friendly!
Cons: The bathroom was old and showerscreen did not help the water went everywhere and the hairdryer did not work properly, lighting in bathroom terrible
Location: great location 5 minute taxi ride or 20 minute walk to luna park. Many great local restaraunts cafes and pubs newarby
Rydges North Sydney had the luxuries and comfort of the city without the city prices and was in a great location! staff were very friendly and accommodating attending to each and every need. Restaurant facilities were fantastic with great food of high quality! the room was incredibly comfortable overall was a fantastic stay!

Disappointing timePosted Aug 21, 2015 on Hotels
very clean but getting run down. Decided to upgrade to a 'park view' room.. Wouldn't call it that at all. Our view was of a building and unkept garden with lots of rubbish in it. Not a good look for the hotel..maybe they should do a tidy up or ask what looked like a school to clean up. Very dissatisfied at the view. We were only there for one night and would've liked to see the city.. Won't be returning. Good that they have 'free' wifi but for what we paid I expected that.
