HOSTEL WITH MY KIDS!

Posted Dec 14, 2016 on Wotif
Pros: CLOSE TO THE STATION
Cons: SINAGE TO REMIND PEOPLE TO BE MORE CONSIDERATE OF THE NOISE
Location: WHO KNOWS, WE ONLY SLEPT THERE!
MY KIDS, AGED 13 AND 14, AND I STAYED ONE NIGHT. THE ROOM WAS BASIC, AS EXPECTED. IT WAS CLEAN AND QUITE COMFORTABLE. THE PRICE...OVER 190 DOLLARS FOR A SHARE BATHROOM, SEEMS A BIT STEEP, AND THE NOISE LEVEL WITH PEOPLE SLAMMING DOORS AND CALLING OUT AT ALL TIMES OF THE NIGHT WAS ANNOYING. THERE WAS NO OBVIOUS SIGNAGE ASKING PEOPLE TO BE MORE CONSIDERATE.

Good location

Posted Dec 7, 2016 on Wotif
We paid $145 for 1 night for a double room. Unfortunately it was next to a dorm room with people who thought it was ok to party all night in the room. The staff did assist at 3:30 am when I was desperate to get some sleep. Also there is no soundproofing on the windows so you also had to deal with the party downstairs until around 3am. I feel that all the people who are paying for an upgraded experience as opposed to a dorm should at a minimum be on a separate floor away from the noise of a dorm. I'm also making an assumption here that at some point the travelers may require a good nights sleep, so perhaps there could be a "quiet " dorm floor. I believe there are approximately 8 floors to the Sydney YHA so that these conditions could be met. This was on a Monday night.
