Great Staff and ServicePosted Jan 5, 2018
During our stay, we really enjoyed the help of Magdalena at the front desk with restaurant reservations and recommendations, all of which were excellent. It was genuinely great service and a lovely stay at the Algila.

Great winter breakPosted Dec 18, 2017
We were well looked after from the moment we arrived. The roims was spotless and beautifully furnished. From our balcony we could see the sea. The breakfast was a choice of buffet or cooked or you could have both. The staff were amazing and nothing was too much trouble.

Amazing!!Posted Nov 7, 2017 on Hotels
We had an amazing stay! The hotel is centrally located and feels much like a boutique hotel. The room was beautiful including the bathroom (I am extremely particular when it comes to rooms and bathrooms especially). We came back from dinner the first night and we couldn't get our lights to work. The front desk staff came up immediately and worked to fix it. We said we were going to go grab a cocktail and come back to see if it was fixed. Was told if they couldn't fix it they would move us...luckily they fixed it! Second night we had dinner at the hotel restaurant which was delicious! Service was great even though shortly after we sat down the bartender who was our server had 5 additional tables sit down. Later that evening we wanted to have a bottle of wine in the room. We called down to the front desk and within minutes he arrived with 3 bottles of white for us to choose from. Such attentive service!! When we visit Siracusa we will of course stay here!!

Lovely place to stayPosted Oct 10, 2017
Pros: Lovely hotel, facilities and room, great breakfast, quiet but safe location and easy access to everywhere.
Location: Ortigia island is very small and everything is within walking distance; very easy to explore such as the Duomo, market, puppet theatre or watch sunset
We have recently stayed at this hotel for one week - the room was beautifully decorated and spacious with Bvulgari toiletries. Bath towels are all lovely and fluffy and the bath room was well equipped including hairdryer. Our room had a French window with a small balcony where we could see some view of the sea; the street was quiet at night and we did not hear any noise. Bed was very comfortable and we had very good night sleep every night. AC also worked well. Excellent housekeeping. The hotel is in quiet part of Ortigia but easy access to everywhere and you feel safe walking back to the hotel in the evening after dinner. Free soft drinks and water in mini bar in the room and complimentary wine, tea and coffee in the lovely lounge downstairs are very thoughtful and welcomed especially having returned to the hotel exploring the island and beyond. Breakfast was also very good with lots of choices including cakes and delicious home made jams. All staff were all very welcoming friendly and helpful, whether they are working at reception, breakfast service, housekeeping etc. Hotel does not have garden or roof terrace open to everyone however you can relax in a lovely lounge where you can enjoy tea, coffee or wine throughout the day. We've really enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone who is interested in visiting Syracuse.

stay at Algila hotelPosted Oct 3, 2017
Pros: I really liked the bed, the ocean view and the very generous breakfast.
Cons: Please put tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms.
I went with high hopes to this very lovely looking hotel overlooking the sea. I did pay a lot of money for a double room and was a little disappointed. I spent the three days living out of my suitcase and there were no coffee or tea facilities. They talk about the 'free mini bar' which is a nice touch, though we're not talking about free booze - just soft drinks that replenished which is nice. Overall though, it seems to me that if you are going to charge a nightly rate of many hundreds of pounds, you should have a decent amount of space and basic facilities.
