Closeness to airportPosted Oct 8, 2015
Pros: Shuttle to the airport
Cons: Maybe toast and coffee in the morning
Location: Closeness to the airport was fantastic. Was dropped off so did not have a car to explore
The room was nice. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Convenient to airport, and a very easy stay.Posted Sep 2, 2015
Pros: Exceptionally clean, with a full kitchen and comfortable bed.
Cons: Nothing comes to mind.
Location: Was only interested in catching a very early flight and this was perfect.
This was perfect as it was a comfortable place at the end of a long vacation and provided options for eating in the room. The staff was excellent, and the trip to the airport early in the morning was quick and efficient. Am recommending it to others.

Reviews of Excellent are MisleadingPosted Aug 30, 2015 on Hotels
I booked this hotel because of the combination of the price and the positive feedback submitted by other reviewers. I must admit that I felt mislead in what I read. I needed a room in Syracuse for an overnight stay (with a hotel that provided airport shuttle service) because I was meeting a friend to start our road trip. When she picked me up the next day, she and I exchanged reviews of the hotel that she and her husband had booked in Syracuse (to install their son in Ithica College). My friend's hotel room was decidely worse (A/C not working, water leaking in the room) AND ridiculously expensive. It seems that the hotels in Syracuse can hold their paying guests hostage and charge high prices while offering rooms in disrepair because of the demand. Parents installing their kids in the local colleges in the Syracuse environs need a place to stay. Hotels fill up even though they are substandard and have fallen into a state of disrepair and disfunction. Although the Candlewood was not ghastly, it was old and worn. The carpets in the hallway, in the room, and in the main public areas were dirty and tired. Not an inviting sight to see! My room had a space for "cooking" (not what I required) but the counter surface was chipped, old, and rundown. Yuck! The room interior was subpar. The towels in the bathroom looked new (!) but that's about it. I am so glad that I had only to stay only one night in this town.

Overall a decent stay but the property is quite olPosted Aug 23, 2015
Pros: Nothing specific.
Location: Airport is very close
The stay was comfortable but obviously since the hotel is quite old hence the stay was not fabulous.

Excellent ValuePosted Aug 17, 2015 on Hotels
Excellent hotel value. Room had a kitchen in it with everything you would need except an oven. We had room 427- a queen bed. The hotel has free laundry facilities- right by the lobby- clean and bright, as well as The Cupboard where you can purchase snacks or frozen foods. Also a nice gym you can use. Staff was friendly. We stayed here one night for attending a nearby wedding. We had a 3 1/2 hour ride to the hotel and we were happy that our room was ready by 12:30 since the wedding was at 2pm. This allowed us to get into our wedding attire. Next day we had a great breakfast a the diner across the street. Woukd definitely stay here again if in the area.

Great room at an affordable price. Check in took a little longer than I'd like, but manageable.

Room was simple, clean & surprisingly comfortablePosted Aug 15, 2015 on Hotels
Certainly not a "suite" but basic room had a good bed, down pillows and it was quiet. Definitely not an upscale property but good.
