Excellent hotel near fairgrounds

Posted Nov 28, 2016
Pros: Everything
Cons: add refrigerator to room
Location: Not much really close, but not that far away.
Everything was great, except no refrigerator in room.

Decent for the price

Posted Oct 24, 2016
Pros: Close to the fairgrounds and highway, older but clean,
Cons: No close restaurants, shower not hot at 5:30am but was hot at night
Location: Would be good if the restaurant next door reopened

It was fine. I did like the free washer & dryer use.

We won't be back

Posted Oct 10, 2016 on Hotels
The hotel was clean and the staff was friendly. The 'technical aspects' of this hotel were the worst I have encountered in years. The WiFi service, when it was available, was reminiscent of bad dial-up from 20 years ago. If you could get on, to load ANY page took about a minute. The local cellular service was poor. Not the hotel's problem, but their lack of functional internet exacerbated a bad situation. Additionally, the TV in our room did not work and we were told there was nothing they could do about it.

Pros: Not much.
Cons: See above.
Location: There's little to do nearby, except for the annual NYS Fair.
For the price, I expected a bit more. Curtains in the room were stained. That's an inexpensive fix. Décor was quite outdated. Felt more like late 1980s than 2016. The worst part was during the continental breakfast, the power went out about 6 times in 15 minutes. If you're expecting large groups to occupy a breakfast space at a single time, you need to get your electricity checked out and brought up to snuff. For what came out to be over $150, I was very disappointed.

Comfort Inn kindness

Posted Sep 9, 2016 on Hotels
We forgot our New York State Fair tickets and the guy working behind the counter said we could have his tickets as he was not going to attend. A nice touch after our forgetfulness. Thats the sort of thing that makes it all worth while. Oh yeah, and a really nice breakfast with lots of coffee is a great start to any day. Go ahead and stay here......and relax.....
