A beautiful place in a terrific location!

Posted Nov 13, 2016
Pros: Its origin as a former convent which had been so thoughtfully and elegantly converted into such a comfortable and unique B&B.
Cons: Nothing.
Location: Walkable to all the major sites, best restaurants, the seaside and markets available.
The room was very comfortable and spacious with an unobstructed view of the Mediterranean sea. The breakfast was the best and most varied of any place we stayed at during our 10 day trip (both in quality, unusual variety and setting), while the location in the historic center couldn't have been better for walking from one end of the historic district to the other. But most importantly our hosts generously gave us their sincere attention, expert knowledge and welcoming hospitality throughout, making us always feel at home. Many thanks again!, and we look forward to being back with you some day soon.....

Wonderful base for first visit to Sicily

Posted Oct 27, 2016
Pros: Exceptionally comfortable beds, excellent showers, breakfasts (home-made yoghurt and range of breads, cheese, salami, eggs), quiet, cleanliness
Cons: Train information supplied on one occasion was wrong but from internet so not really hotel's fault. Check Sunday trains very carefully!
Location: Walk Ortygia (hotel in quiet area but v central); boat trip round Ortygia; Siracusa archaeological park; San Giovanni catacombs; Etna excursions; eat!
The hotel is a peaceful, characterful and very comfortable base for exploration of Syracuse and its environs. In a sheltered spot (cars parked and passing but not heavy traffic) facing directly on to the sea, the atmosphere has the calm of its still visible religious associations: it even has access to its own church. Hotel management is relaxed and helpful: despite occasional language difficulties when the desk was more lightly staffed (that's our difficulties - we don't speak Italian!), hotel staff helped us arrange excursions e.g. to Etna, or to Montalbano locations, even out of the main season as late October is. (Montalbano tours were over, but the wonderful driver we had showed us how much more there was to Modica, Ragusa, and Punta Secca than mere Montalbano reference, and also made time for us to see Noto). We had two small but exceptionally comfortable single rooms. All in all this was a wonderful six days of full-on exploration interlaced with restful nights and great breakfasts.

Nice rooms.

The hotel is very good, the staff is friendly and helpful. However the parking is not free as mentioned in the hotels.com and the sea facing rooms are very small and the view is not worth of extra charge..

Comfortable Hotel Close to Everything

Posted Feb 26, 2016
The room was large and very comfortable. The breakfast was lovely and the hotel was within easy walking distance of everything on Ortygia including less than 5 minutes from a number of great restaurants. There was also a bus stop just across the street for easy access to mainland Syracuse. Everything we could've asked for!

Beautiful hotel very well located

Posted Jan 25, 2016
Pros: The way is kept, the chapel, the staff, the location, the brakfast
Cons: wifi
Location: Orchigia island is a "must" see. Many restaurants, the street market, the shorewalkings
We spent two nights in Orchigia. The hotel is beautiful and has a very well kept internal chapel. The chapel entrance is through the hotel lobby so it becomes almost exclusive to the hotel. There is also a nice terrace with a nice view to the sea. The staff is very friendly and everything is within walking distance. The breakfast is very good
