Very nice, business-style hotel

Pros: We really liked the quality of the entire facility.
Cons: It did seem that the food and drinks were priced a little high.
Location: There is quite an array of hotels nearby. There are a few restaurants, but I did not see very many fast food or chain restaurants.
The Doubletree was a very nice, business-style hotel. By that, I mean that it looked like the type of hotel where business meetings or conferences are held; very spacious, several meeting rooms, and a lot of amenities. There was also a nice restaurant and a small bar available. When we stayed, the hotel was pretty empty and the staff was extremely friendly. I was surprised that the room prices were so low. The restaurant and bar prices were more in keeping with a "conference hotel". We really liked staying there, but I could see that it could prove different if it was packed with conference attendees. While we were there, there were several families taking advantage of the beautiful pool.

Bad surprise

Hotel was under construction but we weren't told. Had to walk through the pool area. Inconvenient slippery and awkward. Restaurant was in a ballroom. Terrible set up. If i had known id have gone elsewhere.

Under construction

Got a great rate through Hotels.com, but likely due to the fact that the hotel is under construction. Whole lobby is torn up and there are boxes for new room fridges up and down the hallways. Most disappointing to me was the snack area near the front desk. I went down to find a before-bed snack for my son, and literally the only food options were two packs of Starburst and some cereal snack packs with no milk. (The front desk said they didn't get a shipment.) Have enjoyed a stay here in the past, but I definitely would not come back until the construction is finished. Suggest you call before you book. If you're staying in Syracuse for a Destiny Mall or Armory Square visit, there are closer and (currently) better options.

Nice Rooms

Rooms were nice and clean. But no vending machines or outside deliveries allowed on the floor. We were unaware they were under renovations because their website makes it seem like they are finished. When we arrived the first we seen before the reception area was sheet rock and construction. The hallways were filled with supplies and luggage carts. The hotel itself is a maze to navigate made worse by the old signs and new design layout. Design flaws like Elevator to rooms on the opposite end of the hotel where you check in to.

Nice hotel but under construction.

The hotel room was nice and comfortable. I was disappointed to find that the entire lobby area, snack area, and fitness room were unavailable for use due to construction. I wish I had know prior to booking as I would have stayed elsewhere for this particular trip.

I was very disappointed with my stay this time. The lobby was closed for renovations. The makeshift bar and restaurant was small and uncomfortable. I was not impressed with the room, though it was clean and updated it was small.

very dirty

Room was disgusting and dirty. There was moldy food under the furniture, and belongings from previous guests. The sliding glass door was broken and hadn't seen winded in a long time. Hotel was under construction, could not find entrance to gym in the chaos. We got woke up to a pounding on our door at 730am, to a maid holding a key ready to enter our room. Check out wasn't till 11am. The check in staff was overall very friendly, but the establishment itself was disgusting.
