While the home itself was cute, there were a number of factors that made our stay a huge disappointment.
1. Privacy: Do no expect ANY privacy if you are traveling with others. None. The walls are paper thin and there is no buffer between the loft floorboards and the 1st floor. As a matter of fact, I could literally see down into the small first floor bathroom through the gaps in the floorboards. The old adage that you can hear a "mouse fart" definitely applies to this property.
2. Privacy #2: This is not some secluded cabin as you are lead to believe in the ad. This property is located in a small neighborhood with a mix of mostly older run-down homes mixed with a few newer "cabins" that were built very close together. At night my wife and I could hear the neighbors talking inside their homes and also hear the noise from their televisions. I'm sure the neighbors could hear us as well.
3. Bathroom (if you can call it that). The biggest letdown of this property is the bathroom, specifically the shower (or lack of). After two days of long, dusty hikes, my wife and I wanted nothing more than to come back to our rental and take a nice warm shower. Talk about a disappointment! The shower at this property is a tiny 2x2 plastic enclosure and the water trickles out slower than molasses. No joke. For comparisons sake, I’ve previously taken showers in an RV where the water flow/pressure was better than it was at this property.
I probably wouldn’t be quite so bitter about the shower and lack of privacy if the cost of this rental was less expensive. But when I compare the the nightly rate of this property (plus cleaning fee + booking fee + taxes) to the price I paid for another VRBO property near Mount Baker (which was 100% nicer BTW), I felt like I had been ripped off.
