Our check in is from 4 PM as some days housekeeping is very busy. Our resort is spread out over our 74 acre property and this does mean that some rooms are further away from our lobby than others. Reading your comment it seems that our staff member checking you in made an error and we will retrain them as we only offer inclusive breakfast to guests that book directly with us, it makes us uncompetitive on rates with the third-party booking systems when we add breakfast and many people only search by rate. We will assess the beds in your room and report our findings to the owner as most of our rooms are privately owned.

Thanks for your review Dustin. Granlibakken Tahoe is located in the Tahoe National Forest with abundant insects and even wildlife, our rooms are not their homes but small insects are able to occasionally sneak in and make a quick show before vanishing for the season. We work to spot any issues and to remove them, despite their being our neighbors. We offer guests a classic Tahoe lodging experience with individually owned units which the owners furnish and decorate within reason. Maybe give us a second chance and ask for a different unit.

Thanks for your comments Yue. The day of your check in was day that every room at our resort checked out as a large group was here for a conference that ended at lunchtime. Our team worked as fast as they could while maintaining their excellent standards of cleanliness, but there were delays in meeting our stated check in of after 4 PM. My hope is that this was communicated to you and that you were kept updated. We do not ever want to check guests into a room that has not been inspected.As far as air conditioning goes, we do not have air conditioning in any of our rooms as our mild mountain climate offers cool evenings. As the planet seems to be warming we offer great suggestions in our FAQ on how to keep your room cool.
