Great location

Posted Dec 29, 2016
This hotel has a great location and great staff. The rooms are quite small and the washrooms did have a smell to them but it was not too bad. The free laundry facilities were amazing.

Decent balance between location and room quality.

Posted Nov 29, 2016
Pros: Nice and helpful staff. Location.
Cons: Internet. The speed and reliability is worse than my free T-Mobile international 2G roaming.
Location: Taipei station, street food vendors
The location is very good, in an area called 補習街, or "tutoring street," a short walk across from Taipei Station. There are lots of street food vendors so if you know Mandarin it is extremely convenient. There are three breakfast vendors in the same street across from the hotel, and a convenience store next door and also multiple more within 1-2 blocks. The rooms are definitely not large, but there is enough room to set up 2 computers and spread out 2 suitcases. Bathroom is decent. Hotel staff is very helpful and friendly. They can help ordering taxi to TPE, order 鳳梨酥 (pineapple pastry) and deliver to your room for free, and are just generally very helpful. All signs have English and Chinese along with multiple other languages. The major downside of this place is the terrible internet. There is really no excuse, as it is year 2016 in Taipei. If you want to stay at this hotel and need half-decent internet like every other reasonable traveler, I suggest buying a 4G sim card and use tethering. Fortunately the hotel staff can help you with that too, and as with everything else in Taiwan things are cheap. There are multiple cell phone carriers though, and some use different bands, so you need to make sure which bands your phone supports and whether those same bands are used by the carrier. Chunghua Telecom, the largest cell phone company in TW, has an office 7-8 minutes walk away.

excellent service, but small rooms

Posted Oct 23, 2016
This hotel's location is very near main station. Service staff were very helpful and room was clean with enough amenities. A little tight for 2 travellers and a child with 2 suitcases. Should be good if for just two people who just use the room as a place to rest at night. However staff at this hotel were excellent and try their best to help you out with queries. They can also help you arrange a cab to the airport at NT1000-1200.

Comfy stay at Cityinn Taipei 22-26 Sep'16

Posted Sep 27, 2016
The hotel is very near to Taipei train stn. There are a lot of exits so rem to use Z6 for nearest access to Huaining street, where Cityinn is located. A lot of eateries around the streets and area. Most importantly very caring and friendly staff 24/7!

Would stay there again

Cons: Parking at the car park was rather time-consuming (15-20 mins to get in or out) as the building is narrowly built and requires the use of a car lift.
This hotel is very conveniently located, with entrance M6 to the MRT at Taipei Station located just around the corner from the hotel. There are many traditional roadside eateries nearby, including a vegetarian breakfast eatery just across the street from the hotel, that sells excellent buns and dumplings, as well as a Starbucks and a 24h McDonald’s if you’re looking for more familiar options. We found an international ATM at Shin Kong Commercial Bank, a 5 min walk away on Chongqing Road. Our room was clean, large enough to accommodate two regular-sized suitcases and equipped with several power outlets and a long counter/shelf. There was no fridge in the room although a communal fridge is available in the small kitchen area on the second floor. Our room had two glass bathroom walls, with an opaque band running horizontally across the centre for privacy - the top and bottom are clear. It didn’t bother us too much but for guests wanting more privacy (ex. non-couples sharing a room), this could be more awkward. Walls aren’t sound-proof and corridor noise from loud guests could be heard from our room at night. Front desk staff were polite, helpful and always had a smile on their face. A weighing scale for luggage (on the second floor) and complimentary boarding pass printing (at the front desk) are nice touches. There is no parking space at the hotel, but the staff arranged for a paid parking spot at a car park located a block away at our request.
