Just ok

Had business in Tallahassee and chose the Duval for two main reasons: the roof top bar and shuttle service to the airport. There is no shuttle service to airport for everyone. Mostly flight crew that arrive at certain times which is only twice daily. I did call 48 hours prior to reserve the shuttle, so they at least reimbursed my fare. Rooms are clean, comfortable and nice but much more dated than in the photo. Walls were not red, but a dark grey, and the shower looked a bit tired. Shower faucet would not stay on either. Shula's was a welcomed addition as was the rooftop bar. These two amenities made it nicer. As for staff, although helpful, I would not go as far to say as courteous. Ok stay, but a bit overpriced for the quality.

Check in was a bit rough, didn't arrive in town until after midnight. When got to the hotel another guest was complaining loudly at the registration desk. In an effort to help that guest my check in was delayed because there was only one computer that could be used to check me in which was occupied. After that all went smoothly, I was able to extend my checkout time to 11:30 am and there were no surprises on my bill.

Edgy, contemporary.

Pros: Modern appearance.
This hotel is different in so many ways. Modern, edgy design. Nice and clean. The rooms have a rather spartan feel, perhaps due to the ultra contemporary design. I found the property very interesting, but really nothing special. It's quite pricey, for the value you get and for a city like Tallahassee. The Shula's restaurant was superb!

I stayed here to ride out the hurricane and have to say it was amazing in such terrible circumstances. Helpful and friendly staff and a beautiful hotel.

The shower is NOT a good design; water ONLY rains down from the top. They need at least an additional hand nozzle. The pebble rocks as the floor of the shower, not a good idea. The sliding door to the bathroom does not lock. The glass sink is scratched up. The big A/C unit sitting up in the wall is unsightly and makes the place feel link a motel. The dark colors of the room make it feel gloomy. The Queen size bed feels very small. The renovations appear rushed and cheap. The large mounted TV is nice, but it started to pixilate on my last day. The Level 8 lounge is nice, but way overly priced.

The staff was very accommodating and friendly, rooms were satisfactory, but no self parking was available at the hotel, limited street parking was available.

Was impressed with the atmosphere of the Hotel Duval. Very elegant and the price was reasonable and comparable. Did notice that my room had a lot of loose white hair that seem to be like a pet had been in the room. Overall still impressive hotel.
