...Hotel needs a lot of improvement.

The condition of the room was substandard. There was hair shavings and makeup on the walls in the bathroom, there were marks on the walls in the other rooms that looked like food, there were particles on the floors, and there were little roaches crawling around. Having booked a smoking room by accident in a booked-out hotel, a smoke scent was expected; but we didn't expect to have to buy bug spray. There was some unsightly goop-like substance on the bathroom tiles, and there was rust on the improperly fastened fixture in the tub. There were parts missing from the air conditioner in the bedroom, and the part that looked like the filter was extremely dirty. The iron wasn't working. There were holes in the curtains and rods missing. The staff weren't really unfriendly, but they could be a bit more warm.
In the hospitality business, making certain that the client has an excellent experience is absolutely paramount; and although not completely unbearable, this particular experience was far from excellent.
