Expedia experience NOT pleasant

I have used the Homewood Suites by Hilton extensively in my professional travel (Diamond member) and have been always very satisfied with the accommodation. Vacationing with family during this trip, the experience was similar. No complaints as far as the hotel is concerned. We booked 'packaged vacation' thru Expedia - Air, Hotel, and Car. We chose the King suite for our family - two adults, two grown up kids. Expedia website suggested comfortable accommodation, but it was far from it as the space was cramped for a family of 4. We arrived at the hotel Christmas eve 1:30 am and immediately had to contact Expedia. Both the hotel manager and I got on the phone with the Expedia rep, and were essentially told we were out luck and Expedia will NOT do anything to change the situation. It was disappointing to see our vacation getting off on such an unpleasant note. Had this been evident during the booking we would have made different arrangements. But the sadder part is for a corporation like Expedia to treat its customers so poorly. I will choose a competitor next time.
