They gave our room awayPosted Nov 10, 2015
We booked our family trip in August 2015 for our visit to Tampa in November 2015. Once we arrived with our party, we found out they gave our room away. Us, as well as 15 other random guests were told we had to go to another mariott. Did not seem like an overly bad situation to them- they just moved us to another hotel- IN THE AIRPORT. Who wants to stay in an airport when you go to Tampa. They tried to make up for it by giving us free drinks, and breakfast but next time, i'm going to try Hyatt or Intercontinental. Only good thing about this hotel is close to mall and restaurants so you can walk. Rooms are clean, lobby and restaurant are fine. I myself would hesitate booking there though as i'm wondering if they frequently do this because they have the other hotel in the airport so close.

Never again Expedia or Renaissance Hotel!Posted Nov 2, 2015
Expedia as well as this hotel had HORRIBLE customer service. I was traveling with 2 young children. We arrived at nearly midnight after 8 hours in the car only to find out we were being put in a room with 1 king bed as opposed to the 2 full beds we reserved. Neither the hotel nor Expedia cared a thing about us or our uncomfortable sleeping arrangements. The hotel would not even give us a roll-away, and we were forced to pile up in one bed (we were not all related in a parent-child travel arrangement). All Expedia wanted to do was allow us to cancel the room without a penalty - at midnight, pregnant, with two young children, after traveling 8 hours. Where would we go? The hotel had over-booked, and Expedia simply said not all hotels cooperated with them, and a double bed reservation was a request rather than a reservation, and that this information was included in the fine print. However, nowhere in the booking process did Expedia or the hotel ever tell me that they were booked out of the 2 full-bed option so as to give me a choice to stay there and arrive prepared for one king bed or stay somewhere else. They presented it as an option and a valid reservation, and scammed me into making the reservation thinking my travel plans were solidified. Never again will I use either Expedia or Renaissance Hotel.

Great stay!Posted Sep 7, 2015
Pros: Upgrades, ambiance, and staff courtesy.
Cons: Better options for the convenience store. They did not have good healthy options (fruits, yoghurt, etc).
Location: International Plaza Mall is very good.
We were lucky to get one of the recently remodeled rooms on the second floor. Everything was perfect and smell new. They have high quality sheets and the mattress was excellent (we even checked the brand because it was much better than the one we have at home). When checking in they let us know that construction was going on and that there would be noise from 9am through 4pm. The reception attendant was formidable (I think her name was Nora). Will definitely return!

Perfect for any travel to Downtown TampaPosted Aug 31, 2015
Second time at this hotel, first since the renovation. I will definitely revisit. Only complaint is 'someone' used my room number for a charge at the lobby bar. Front Desk gladly reversed the charge, but I'd think with technology as it is, a room card could easily be used rather than just the room number. Great hotel nonetheless!

Tampa GetawayPosted Aug 24, 2015
Pros: A very reasonable price and very well located.
Location: Many things to do in walking distance. Is just 1 minute walking from one of the best Malls in Tampa with very nice restaurants.
Very good hotel. Very well located at the International Plaza, with very nice stores and excellent restaurants. Hotel staff very friendly. A little bit dessapointed with fees charged for Internet and botlle of water in the room..

For my last day in FL, a convent stay near TIAPosted Aug 18, 2015 on Hotels
selected this property because of a previous favorable experience and a great location near food and airport. Did not disappoint. Property, 5 years later, is in great shape. Personnel at check-in were super friendly, helpful and down-to-earth. Particularly love the design, appointments, extras, of the bathroom. One of the best value/$ i've had.
