Nice when the system works. But when it doesn't .

Pros: It was actually a decent room once I got in, tho lacking cupboard space. Location & room rate fine.
Cons: Response to glitches needs to be slicker. I think this is fatal to Omena's business model & credibility.
Location: short walk to all the town's attractions & transport hub.
There's no reception, they send you a code to get thru the doors and into your room. But about a dozen of us arrived to find codes not working, we were stuck on the street. There's a service number to ring, in Finnish Swedish and English, I got no answer on the English line. Eventually after 40 mins the codes were activated and we all got in. 40 mins maybe isn't a lot in the great scheme of things, but it feels like forever if you've no info and don't know if they're working on it, and it will have felt even longer to the families with young kids that day. The problem didn't recur - but always the anxiety, say I go out sightseeing or just for a bite, will I be able to get back? Things go wrong in every hotel, the key is how well they respond. Omena's service line didn't. And this was on a fine midsummer day - in Finland. Think about on a cold day. And with their central system, they should have been able to generate a text / email to the stuck guests, explaining what went wrong. They didn't, so either they're not bothered, or they don't learn by mistakes.

Dear Graham, thank you for reviewing us. I'm terribly sorry there was a problem in the door code system on your arrival. Unfortunately there was a bigger issue in the system at the time but luckily it was quickly found out and fixed, in the great scheme of things. Our customer service is available 24/7, but it seems it was flooded with phone calls at the time since people were anxious to receive information about the problem. However, every call is received and handled as soon as possible, though there might be a bit of a wait during problems like these. I hope your stay was otherwise lovely, though!

Excellent Location, clean and comfortable. The only uncomfortable thing is that there is no way to keep your luggage before the check in or after the check out.

Just standard but Ok. A bit chilly in the room. Do not expect anything fancy. Serves the purpose of sleeping one or two nights.

What a great idea for a hotel to give the entrance code by text - no reception needed or anything! The room was clean and the hotel is in a great location.

Very uncomfortable rooms because the noices from aisle came really easily inside. The bed was like a bit old and felt not so nice. Location very nice.

Pros: Location
Cons: Locker service is useless. Cleaning service and amenities to be refilled.
It locates very close to the train station, 50 meters walk. Also, it is a shopping street indeed so you could find lots of shops and restaurants around the hotel. The staff did not clean the room every day. Shower was very good. There is a locker where you could leave your luggage there But the problem is it is behind the locked door, so it would not work after the check out time. Go and leave you luggage at the station is much better.

Budget but fine

Cons: Left luggage facilities on the last day is needed.
No hotel staff, just a code you put in on a keypad upon arrival. This system works well and I guess keeps things cheap if that's all you need.
