lovely hotel in great location

Posted Sep 1, 2017
Pros: Friendly and helpful staff
Location: So much to do in the surrounding area. Trip to Etna, Castel Mola, the beautiful Isolabella, the historic town centre including ampthitheatre.
Lovely hotel in great location. Very friendly, helpful and approachable staff. Lovely rooftop terrace with fantastic views over Taormina.

Great hotel

This was a great hotel. Good size room, very clean. Parking is a bit tricky but that is not their fault. The staff was very helpful with parking. I'd stay again!

last weekend of summer

Posted Sep 7, 2011 on Hotels
The hotel was quite a bit overpriced. However the staff was very friendly! The room itself was much smaller than the pictures showed them as. The pool was pretty nice, and they had a lot of area on the roof to just relax or layout. Within a small walk you could get to the beach, and about 400 meters down the road you could catch the gondola up to the main area of Taormina. It seemed to be a hotel with an older crowd as it's clientele, just something to consider. The breakfast buffet in the morning is much better in comparison to many of the other B&Bs I have been to around Sicily. Overall: convenience wise this place was great, for the price i felt it was a bit steep.

Noisy hotel aimed at package tourists

Posted Oct 2, 2009
Very good reception staff, waiting staff play to the package tour idea of Italian waiters! Cramped, poorly laid-out, poorly insulated room. Aircon centrally controlled was always too cold, but turned off made the room too stuffy. Simple stuff like making sure there was a spare toilet roll was not properly attended to. Restaurant meal just average, too much volume and insufficient quality. However Sicilian night buffet was really very good. Good location close to funicular to upper town. Beach is a bus ride away and costs 6.00 Euros for guests. If you stay here don't go for half board.

Very Charming

Posted Oct 9, 2008 on Hotels
This is a very charming hotel at a convinient location. Note that it's not in the center of Taormina. It's down below the hill but it's 2 minutes walking distance to the funicular that takes you up to "downtown" in just a few minutes. It's very close to the beach. Note that it's not ON the beach as it tries to tell you it is, but it's a short walk to the public beach and Isola Bella which is wonderful. The hotel itself has a private beach also but it's a shuttle-ride away and it costs about 10 Euros to use it for their own guests. The public beach is pretty good anyway and you can rent beach chairs and umbrellas there. The hotel staff are so nice and friendly that they made this stay very pleasant for us despite the weather not cooperating. There are NO sea-view rooms in this hotel. When they say sea-view, it means partial view and you have to be on the second floor or higher to have any view at all. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The only bad thing was that it's not sound-proof at all. If someone walks in the hallway of the floor below, you can hear it in your room! So pretty much everything from all rooms can be heard. The most annoying one is the sound of the flush. Decent breakfast, and the most charming courtyard with a swing:)
