This is a palatial hotel centrally located near everything. Huge gorgeous pool and the most spectacular views imaginable. Parking was included on site. I highly highly recommend this hotel but don’t rely on reception staff for information about anything. This is a large hotel with minimal personal attention. Beware… Hotel claimed air conditioning was not turned on at the facility until June 1 so there was no AC in the rooms.

Great hotel

Posted Apr 4, 2018
Pros: Absolutely everything.
Cons: Sink did not drain well but probably not reported by previous guest?
Location: Great location in the relatively flat part of the city. Walking distance to everything. Great restaurants a minute away. Garden adjacent
Parking fills up.Staff will double park your vehicle and assist in getting your vehicle out if it is boxed in. Great staff. Fantastic view if you book a room with view.

Great place with wonderful views in a great city. Staff were friendly and obliging. Took care of our car as there isn't much room in the city for cars at no extra cost

A faded Mediterranean jewel

Posted Sep 9, 2017
Parking was very handy in a town of narrow winding streets. But overall the hotel was disappointing; particularly the breakfasts, where the food was plentiful but below par. The redeeming highlight of the property was the view from the pool deck (and elsewhere) looking across at the vista of Mt Etna and the southern coastline.

Good location

Posted Aug 5, 2017
Pros: The views were amazing.
Cons: Update the rooms and ensure plumbing works. Also lift should be mended.
Location: Not far from the main street of Taormina, and also near the bus station. Greek Theatre was nearby.
Room was disappointing, very small and needed updating. Wash basin took a long time to empty so probably needed to be cleaned out. Drawer front kept falling off, and fridge handle was missing. Too many steps to get up and down to the swimming pool, only one lift was working.

What a wonderful old fashioned hotel!

Posted Jul 28, 2017
Pros: The staff and the family atmosphere.
Cons: Hairdryers and tissues in the bedrooms. Possible tea & coffee making facilities as well?
Location: There are lots of good shops and restaurants in the town. Sicily is a big island with lots of fantastic architecture.
Our first trip to Taormina we chose this hotel after a lot of research. The hotel is an old fashioned family hotel. Lots of dark wood furniture, high ceilings, very comfortable with a dining room which would have doubled as a magnificent ballroom. The food was good and the service in the dining room was exceptional under Franco's supremely professional team. Our waitress, Silvia, had a wonderful smile and didn't miss a trick. The food was at least 20% cheaper than in the town. Breakfast was a bit disappointing with orange juice that tasted as if it was made with powder and the inevitable scrambled eggs that you could bounce on the floor but lots of fresh fruit. The bedroom was comfortable with a balcony and good air-conditioning but lacked hairdryers and tissues. The swimming pool has an astounding view of Etna and a great pool bar. Internet is available but a bit patchy. Easy walk into the town and shops. This town closes at the end of October and starts again in April so prices generally are expensive to make up for the lack of winter trade.
