Nice hotel very close to ski area...

Posted Apr 7, 2015
Pros: I liked the location and the fact that the hotel has everything we needed to enjoy a weekend of skiing.
Cons: We believe that the cook's attitude should improve because this person has direct contact with guests.
Location: The hotel's location is great because it is only one mile from the ski area...
My family and I enjoyed our stay at the Columbine Inn because the hotel's facilities/conditions/location were exactly what we were looking for to enjoy a weekend of skiing. The staff was great, with the exception of the cook which we got the impression that it was looking forward for the skiing season to end, the facilities and condition were in good shape, the rooms were clean and comfortable, the breakfast served its purpose, and you cannot beat the hotel's location to the ski area.... I definitely recommend staying at this hotel!

The place is great. Just a lodge in the mountains. We were one of two guests the first night. The room is clean, new bed, cabinet, and tv. No cable in the room but the wifi works. Hot tub is good. The breakfast is worth the stay. Period. This whole area is for skiers. The mountain is tough, people are great. It's not a new building, but clean. It's a great cabin like feel in the mountains. It's not a 5* building but a 5*stay. Great time. If your looking for bell hops and room service this ain't the place. Chef, and staff are all the best. Great, great stay.

Great place close to TSV

This was our first stay at Columbine and we will definitely be returning. It has the small town European feel Taos Ski Valley is known for, is a 2 minute drive to the lot, and at a good price point. Rooms small but clean, staff friendly, breakfast big.

Nice place to base out of to ski at Taos

Cons: game cabinet and the welcome. I had to ask a ton of questions. Should be a script for those who've never been there. Sounds between floors at times.
Location: Ski!
The room is a tad small for 2 queens but in very good shape. Bathroom has been remodeled nicely. There is a great common area on the 2nd floor with tables, chairs, leather couches and chairs and a big screen TV. The hot tub is just off that room outside. There is a book shelf if you need a book to read. The armoire with games was in sad shape, so bring your own. The breakfast is 2nd to NONE! There are also marsh-mellows for roasting which is a really nice touch!

I booked my stay a few days before my ski trip with my 17 year-old daughter and would highly recommend the Columbine Inn. Staff was friendly, rooms were spacious and clean, breakfast was good and we were only about a mile or so from great skiing.

Wonderful hotel for family vacation

Posted Mar 31, 2014
Cons: There is not a coffee pot in the room but the coffee in the breakfast area was good and strong.
We stayed towards the end of spring break for a family ski trip. The hotel was all we could ask for. We had a nice room, it wasn't fancy but it was big enough for the four of us. It was clean and comfortable. The hotel had a nice lounge area next to the outdoor hot tub. They had a fire in the outdoor fireplace each night with marshmallows for roasting. The hotel had a complimentary breakfast that was amazing. The chef prepared unique hot dishes in addition to the regular breakfast fare. The shuttle to the slopes was easily reserved for the short ride to the lifts. It was a great stay that surpassed our expectations.

Can't wait to go back!

Pros: See above.
Cons: For the price - nothing!
Location: Great location a mile outside the Taos Ski Resort. Hiking trails right behind the lodge as well as within a 4 mile radius. Downtown Taos 15 miles away
What an incredible find! One mile away from the base of the Taos Ski Resort, the Columbine is a perfect place! At a fraction of the cost of staying at the Resort ( and I saw the inside of the condos and they certainly weren't worth the cost) with an amazing home made breakfast included, I can't recommend this place enough. It's not fancy, but the lofts are great for families, the wifi was excellent and the staff was incredibly nice. There are even great hiking trails right behind the lodge!
