Great location! Really clean and friendly.

Posted Jan 15, 2018
Pros: Location, staff, cleanliness.
Cons: Not a huge deal but could be improved...Climate control. Need a way to cool down the room.
Location: Could not be better!! Perfect location close to shopping, eating, museums, art, everything!
We enjoyed our stay here very much. The location is perfect for walking around the best areas of Taos, walking to eating establishments and a huge variety of hopping. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful and the room was very clean an comfortable. We would stay here again for sure. Negatives would be lack of climate control (I am always hot and could not set the room to cooler temp), and the floors are creaky. Otherwise it is a fantastic place to stay in Taos.

Excellent experience, great location. Convenient coffee and tea every morning. Wish there was a restaurant but plenty nearby.

Central location

Posted Dec 1, 2017
Pros: The location was central. You could park your car and walk around the Old Town easily.
Cons: The bed décor is fussy, too many throw pillows. Bathroom shelf too small for toiletry bags. Need a magnifying mirror as lighting not bright.
Location: Rio Grande Gorge bridge - west rim hike. Hike to Williams Lake at Taos Ski valley. Exercise and great views.
The front desk staff were very helpful during check-in.

Historic hotel with great location

Posted Nov 27, 2017
Pros: Location, staff, historic feel.
Cons: Either provide a continental breakfast or put refrigerators in the rooms.
Location: Hotel is right on historic plaza, so walking to shops and restaurants is easy. Farmers market takes place right across street.
We stayed in a nice room with king bed overlooking the Plaza for three days. There were some problems with the room however, Guests have no control over the heat or cooling. Our room was so warm that we left window open at all times, which resulted in a cold draft when temps went below freezing at night. The room was small, which made finding places for our luggage difficult. The hotel restaurant closed after I booked the room, and there were no provisions for breakfast. There is no refrigerator in the room, so buying breakfast food was challenging. They provided coffee and tea, but that's it.

Thank you for your comments. We are limited in space, due to the historic nature of the hotel. The Hotel restaurant was only open for lunch daily and dinner on the weekends so that wouldn't have solved your breakfast dilema. Thank you for staying with us.

Great fun on the Plaza

Posted Nov 26, 2017
We spent one night at La Fonda with our son and daughter-in-law to introduce them to Taos. The hotel is delightful with south western art work throughout, a comfortable lobby and mezzanine area and warm and helpful staff. The rooms are small but well-appointed. Since the hotel is downtown, it can be a little noisy if you leave the window open at night, but the hotel provided ear plugs along with other amenities. And, since it is the hotel on the plaza, the location cannot be beat.
