Great Value

Pros: proximity to town
Cons: bring back the free breakfast
I have stayed here many times. I think its a great value. I often do book it on Expedia. There is a great brew pub next door and its an 8 minute walk to town, Do stop in at the Taos Inn for music, or late night at the Alley Cantina. The owner does a good job updating the rooms.

Room and bathroom are old. Needs updating bit if one needs a clean overnight stay this works.

Great restaurant/coffee shop and beds

Although the room could use an update, the beds were super comfortable and it was extremely quiet. The heating system worked great and we used the crawling fan and were quite comfortable. The best was the newly reopened coffee shop were we got half off our meals, and the breakfasts were fantastic. I grew up in Taos and appreciated the green Chile sauces and huevos rancheros. Got a great price on the room too.

Great location to the center of Taos. Bath & shower needs updating other than that good room for the rate.

Kachina Lodge surpasses every expectation!

We booked this hotel online and expected to have the normal hotel experience one would expect. We were very, very pleasantly surprised when we arrived to be met by a very friendly front desk staff, Sherri, who continued to be not only friendly but informative and accommodating. She recommended the recently re-opened restaurant in the hotel called "La Montaña", which turned out to be a great choice. Our room was spacious, clean, and much better than expected. The linens and towns were new and much better than one would expect from a mid-priced hotel. The bed and facilities were great. Bath was fine, though a bit old, but without the normal issues one finds as everything was fully functional and as clean as when it was new. The hotel itself was well built and the rooms were quiet. The best part of the hotel stay was that we were on a trip whereby we were staying for an unexpected number of days, not knowing each day if we'd need to stay another day until late each day. Sherri became a huge asset as we'd simply call her and ask her if we were able to extend out stay as late as 7pm each night. She would have everything prepared before we arrived to re-check into the hotel. We spend more than 100 nights a year on the road, staying in many different hotels, but the Kachina Lodge staff and facilities made the stay exceptional. We ended up eating at the La Montaña restaurant every night to fresh cooked delicious meals and great service.

I loved my stay here. It is an older hotel. with character. It seemed more authentic than hotels with plastic furniture. The staff was excellent.. I was made to feel at home quickly. The room was clean and comfy. It was very quiet. The restaurant had great food. The lodge has easy access to the community. I look forward to returning during the holidays.

Taos Trip

Hotel was not quit as clean as it could have been. Breakfast was a few grapes and doughnuts.

We made a change in the Operators, who were delayed with opening because of inspectors. Now we have a new menu with wonderful food and service.
