Quiet and Peaceful

Overall a great experience. We were in the older part and the grounds were very nice. Free breakfast was excellent. The room was nice and clean. The only minus in the experience was the queen mattress left me with a backache.

Maintained needed.

Pros: The breakfast was really good. The rooms were large and the beds comfortable.
Cons: The maintenance issues mentioned above with the addition of cleaning the windows in the breakfast room.
Location: It is close to Taos and the sites of Taos but a bit out of town which made it feel safer.
There were many positive aspects to the accommodations, the room was large and the beds comfortable, the breakfast was really great, but the negatives were enough to make the stay disappointing. The door to the room did not close and required a lot of effort to pull it shut, which made a disturbingly loud noise. All of the rooms were like this so every time another door was opened this loud and grating noise disturbed the whole floor as the occupants tried to shut the door. There were other maintenance issues with the patio door needing effort get open and shut. The courtyard was messy with leaves, the pool area had cigarette butts around it and that door was difficult to open too. And there was a moldy odor emminating from the bathroom. The housekeeping staff did not even make the beds.

Dear Taos Traveler, Thank you for filling out the review about our beloved inn. We do have our wrinkles and sometimes they create guest service and comfort issues. We apologize and are caught between guest comfort and authenticity. That is why when we renovate we do so with a lot of thought and purpose. I cannot tell you how helpful your comments are to us as we use them as a guide on what guest issues to address next. Thank you again.

Enjoyable Stay

Posted Sep 16, 2016
I was in town for a BMW Motorcycle Rally nearby and made my reservations late so I wasn't sure what to expect at Sagebrush Inn. I was very pleased with everything, from the check-in, happy hour at the hotel bar (and enjoyed a great burger there) and when I returned at the end of the evening (Friday night), the bar had a great band playing. I had to check out a day early to get back home and the hotel staff accommodated me without any issues. I'll definitely stay at Sagebrush Inn again!

Staff was extremely nice and helpful. Somewhat disappointed that the two queen room was one queen and a murphy bed queen. However it worked out well. The free breakfast was excellent. Enjoyed our stay.

Lovely hotel but needs room renovation. Would like to see this hotel internally renovated. The hotel is a gem.

Hotel with Great Setting and Ambiance

Posted Sep 7, 2016
Pros: The valley and country views, the Spanish style and flavor, the room size, the buffet breakfast, and the fact that the hotel is dog-friendly.
Cons: My room, and I suspect other rooms, are in need of minor maintenance, such as replacement of missing light blubs and fixing sink and shower drains.
Location: The location is about 3 miles from the center of Taos to the north and about 12 miles from the southern portion of the Rio Grande del Norte monument.
Sagebrush Inn is a hidden gem, far enough outside of "downtown" Taos to have a quiet, country feel but close enough to be in "downtown" by car in a few minutes. The hotel has a countrified feel and provides views of the valley and/or mountains from many of the rooms and from the outdoor dining/drinking patio. The architecture and style are old Spanish. My room was large, well furnished and appointed, with a patio. Other rooms have balconies. The hotel also has a restaurant and bar right on site. Importanly, the property is dog-friendly, and I was able to have dinner with my dog on the patio and take him into the bar. The buffet breakfast is truly a full breakfast featuring hot and cold dishes, along with breads, fruits, and drinks. I would definitely stay at the Sagebrush again, when in the Taos area.

Large Inn in Taos

Posted Sep 6, 2016
Pros: The Inn is built & decorated in Taos style.
Location: The Inn is close to many shopping and dining options. There is skiing about 15 miles away at Taos Valley.
The Inn has several buildings and a convention center. Our room was large and decorated in Taos style. The complex condition is OK, but seems worn and in need of an update. The main issue we had was the room smelled stale.

Nice comfortable hotel but a little dated and far from the plaza / not walking distance, overall very nice place and super comfortable beds.
