Nice hotel with history

Posted Nov 27, 2016
This is a nice hotel with a very friendly staff. When we arrived the power was out in the area. We could not check in but they kept the bar open with emergency lights and flashlights. Rooms were nice and clean we discovered our room had a Murphy bed which worked well for us so I was able to cancel one of our rooms at no cost. We really had a good time staying with them. I would stay here again when returning toTaos.

Great views/breakfast

Posted Nov 27, 2016
Pros: Offered 2 rooms w/2 separate bathrooms
Location: The great Rio Grand gouge is amazing, along with lots early American History.
View from room and spa were great for seeing hot air balloons. Hot Breakfast was a super way to start the day.

Hello Taos Traveler! Thanks for the very nice words you shared for our future guests. I am so happy when people recognize us for what we are and have been for 85 years...an iconic, traditionally built old Inn with charm, personality and a warm fire. Nothing makes us more excited than when our guests enjoy their stay. We hope to see you again on your next stay.

This is the second time we stayed at the hotel and it was a great experience. The room was nice, clean and very homely. The complimentary breakfast is good and the staff are al very friendly. I would definitely recommend my friends stay here.

Dear Taos Traveler, Thank you for filling out the review about our beloved inn. We do have our wrinkles and sometimes they create guest service and comfort issues. We apologize and are caught between guest comfort and authenticity. That is why when we renovate we do so with a lot of thought and purpose. I cannot tell you how helpful your comments are to us as we use them as a guide on what guest issues to address next. Thank you again.

Old - Not Clean

Posted Nov 19, 2016
Pros: Nice breakfast buffet
Cons: Upgrade rooms - Clean rooms - Actually everything could use upgrading
Location: Convenient location
Room was old - dirty, disgusting carpet. Had to go to front desk to get some spray to take the odor out of the room and that really didn't help. Would not walk barefoot in the room. I wrote a review previously explaining our dissatisfaction with the room and received an email from the manager who asked for me to call him. When I called he apologized for the room and offered a full refund which I was not expecting, but he was so friendly and insisted on the refund. To date I have not received the refund, so this is just another disappointment in the experience. Check-in was 3:00 p.m. but the room was not ready and we were told to return at 4:00 p.m. When we returned, the lobby was full of guests who were also trying to check in, and everyone was upset over the long wait. Some people did not get the room they requested. The hotel staff was very pleasant, but very disorganized. Some people just left and went to another hotel.

First Visit to Taos

Posted Nov 13, 2016
Pros: The quaint room with fireplace
Location: We visited the local downtown area with many shops to visit, including art work, jewelry and local pottery.
The staff were pleasant, the room was adorable and the restaurant with local musician was a wonderful plus!

Nice hotel, close to airport, very helpful staff

Posted Nov 7, 2016
Pros: the staff were so helpful, printing off maps to places, phoning ahead to make sure places were open
Cons: the air-conditioner/heater was a bit noisy
Location: 5 mins from airport
Best value hotel we stayed in during our trip to USA. nice breakfast including omlettes, the complimentary soup in the evening was an unexpected bonus. free access to a computer for internet and printing, complimentary transfers to airport and car rental office.

Sagebrush in Taos

Posted Nov 6, 2016
Location: It is on the southern edge of town so not within walking distance to the Plaza but there are good restaurants nearby.
It is an older style adobe inn that is visually appealing and we'll kept. The suite was large, very clean and the bed was quite comfortable.

Fixed our complaints

Posted Oct 31, 2016
When we first arrived at our room it was smaller than we had anticipated but seemed cozy. I was tired from driving so decided to take a short nap before diner. I was awoken by a sneeze, in the room next to us. We then could hear the muffled conversation that the couple next to us was having. They were not arguing or even talking loudly. Not acceptable to us. We went to the front desk and told them the problem and they put us in another room, that was very nice and very quite. We ended up having a wonderful stay and would go back but we know what rooms to ask for. The staff were all very nice and helpful.
