![The Purakaunui Falls are one of the most beautiful waterfalls in New Zealand outside the mountains. Down in the Catlins it's off a gravel road past Papatowai. “The location is very nice and it deserves to meet Surat Bay! However, maybe this hotel is not the best choice as the treat received was not good at all. Although we hace contact to the hotel to comunicate our arrival time (8.30 pm) and they confirm us that there was no problem, the girl receive us angry saying that we do not write them and open our room giving us the key without explaining nothing about the hotel. ”

“Lovely place to stay. When we arrived, the property was very clean and looked newly refurbished, but the most stunning was the panoramic view of the ocean. Usually we eat out when we’re on holiday but it was so nice in the property that we went to the grocers in the next town and cooked for ourselves. Then walking along the beach just across the road. The sunrise in the mornings are a joy to watch. A few basic supplies were also left for us. Well done to Lisa for a most enjoyable stay :)”
