Amazing hotel but the staff are even better
Definitely my favourite place to stay I was delayed on route and ended up checking in super late, the staff couldn’t do enough for me and were really accommodating! Love this hotel but the staff are even better than the hotel!! Fab fab fab!!!

Gala event New Year’s Eve the organisation of the evening felt all over the place the food and the service didn’t compare to others when attending for canapés, glasses of Prosecco are set out for u to take on arrival not this time, by 19:15 there was nothing we had to ask for the drink as did several other couples we were told that there were no glasses we had to wait for them to come out of the dishwasher someone was sent for bottles of Prosecco which was then poured into the warm glasses straight from the dishwasher a young lad did offer to fetch a selection of canapés which we accepted others had to wait for the same, in the main venue room there wasn’t much of an atmosphere the food was mediocre and served slowly coffee was over at side table in flasks, lukewarm they ran out of cups no fresh cream, no after dinner mints the entertainment was a DJ, no modern music played, some tunes were ok but usually ones requested by guests. Breakfast was a shambles purely because of the set up tea coffee set up well away from the food area just in flasks lukewarm would have been better to have tea pots u can add hot water to and take to ur table, toaster should have been on a separate table and at least two toasters plates-nothing matched it was like they were from a charity shop no side plates the room was great however no bubble bath I had to use a glass to fill with shower gel from the fixed appliance in the shower the hotel looks lovely let down by little things overall disappointe

Golf Syay
Hotel is nice although the rooms are a bit tired and need a refurb. The championship course was a delight to play and I would highly recommend it. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Our main problem was on the second night where we were kept awake by very loud residents next to our room, who seemed to be having a party until 4-5am.

The staff were really good and the room and bed were very comfortable. Before we arrived I asked about zero alcohol drinks and was told they had 3 zero beers and 1 gin. However there was only one zero beer available (Peroni) and no gin, so this waz disappointing. I think the accommodation rates are overpriced and the breakfast is also overpriced aling with the bar tariffs...

The staff were unhelpful and giving wrong information, I was told upon check-in I can show up for breakfast at same cost in the morning, it was £18 I was told, we got to the breakfast area in the morning and they said it £24 and the lady was very un-helpful and boardline rude. The room was really dated and in need of an upgrade

Really disappointed - I was expecting more from this hotel. Such a lovely location and great layout but food and drink was really poor and there are just so many signs of lack if maintenance and care. Staff were lovely and rooms really clean.

Swimming pool has limited time access for children which is not advertised and is misleading. We booked this hotel purely because of the pool, we arrived at 17.30 to be told it closes for kids at 18.00 which ruined our kids night. The hotel room was very dirty as was the cutlery/plates at breakfast. The pillows were disgusting and the bed had some sort of fixings poking out which scratched one of our kids legs. I won’t be returning here!

Dreadful Food & Service!!
Looooong wait to be checked in, nearly 20 minutes with no other people in front of me!! Didn’t set-up the pre-auth a/c properly after taking £50 so had to pay for drinks separately at the bar (twice after them promising to sort it out after the first time) Had to go and sort the issue out myself and it took another 15 minutes just to be seen to sort out the room a/c and eventually had to go and knock the staff door to be seen, along with another couple who had been waiting for ages before me. Mum & Daughter Afternoon Tea on the table next to me was abysmal and given a ful refund and spoilt their special occassion….the cucumber was completely slimey and the clotted cream virtually frozen. No other white wine apart from Chardonnay available…No Pinot Grigio or Sauv Blanc. Asked for Pint of Orange Juice and Lemonade for evening meal (got a pint of lemonade with a small splash of orange squash) Ordered Prawn & Crayfish Cocktail (they turned up with Pate after about 20 minutes) then had to wait AGAIN and when the cocktail turned up the lettuce was black and disgusting. (See picture) Chips that came with the steak were literally swimming in grease and the chips were so hard they broke when you tried to cut them. All of the above was reported as the issues arose!!!….shocking service from a reputable hotel chain and I certainly wouldn't recommend anyone to stay there unless they severely enhance their service offering and standards.

Lovely hotel and rooms are large comfortable and quiet. The service in the restaurant at both dinner and breakfast was bad and food ok but not great, and for this reason alone I won’t return.
