So so

Posted Jan 22, 2018
Checkin and checkout was wonderful. The ladies at the desk were friendly and helpful. The resort itself is very outdated. The bathtub didnt seem like it was washed because there was hair left in it. The sofa bed came with no sheets.

Nice if you get a discount

Posted Jan 20, 2018
Pros: The decor and architecture were nice. I had a fireplace in my room. I also enjoyed the indoor pool, hot tub, and dry sauna.
Cons: The light fixtures in my room need repairs. There is mold in the shower tiles. And the tv should be hooked up to the internet.
Location: In the summer there is lots to do. In the winter there is nothing! Literally. A waste of time.
I stayed in the King Mansion, which was supposed to be quite expensive per night. Thanks to Expedia coupons, points and credit card points, I paid next to nothing. For the price I paid it was excellent, but if I had paid full price, I would be very disappointed. The room was poorly lit, the tv only had bad cable, the light fixtures were in need of repair, and there was mold in the shower tiles. It's what you would expect in a three star hotel, but with four star finishes. The hotel was an absolute maze, it took me nearly 15 mins to find the spa from my room. The restaurant was overpriced and the food was overcooked. With the exception of the mudslide cookie and mint ice cream desert, which was fantastic. Overall, I enjoyed my stay, I just felt it was overpriced for what was offered. So if you can get a room for half price, go for it. Otherwise you would probably be happier at a 5 star hotel, for the same price.

Bit of a dud

Posted Jan 8, 2018
Pros: The snowy grounds and the birds were nice.
Cons: The heat, a functional shower, elevators to the floors with the rooms.
If I hadn't been expecting to stay somewhere special, this might have been an okay visit. The staff at the front desk was adequate. The credit card reader wasn't functioning properly, but the receptionist quickly typed in the numbers as if accustomed to the problem. The hallways were chilly, as was our room when we entered. The room grew warmer, but the wall unit had phases when it blew cool air. When we reported this, the front desk sent a man to check it, and he said the cool air was normal. Even so, it wasn't comfortable. The real problem, though, was the broken faucet in the shower, which was completely loose and not functional. We were then moved to a new room. It had a working shower and real heat, so from that point forward, our stay was fine. The coolest thing about the place was the group of big black birds that congregated on a chimney visible from the Biddle House. They must have been there for some warmth when we toured the snowy grounds the next morning and saw them.

The setting is beautiful.

Posted Jan 3, 2018
Pros: The setting is quaint.
Cons: Staff at the desk that are more helpful and friendly
Location: Restaurants are good at the hotel and locally . The view of the Tappen Zee is great
Elevators are limited- thus you carry suitcases up and down stairs. Shower facilities need updating. Staff were not very helpful

Not comfortable in winter. Cold bathroom Parking

Posted Jan 2, 2018
This place is not comfortable in winter. Parking is far. Bathroom was very close. Service is scarce. Too pricey for this level of comfort. But overall set up because of greenery and garden and widespread area should be good in other season. No view from any other area other than King rooms.

Not a responsive management team

Posted Dec 30, 2017
Pros: Lush grounds very quiet.
Cons: The way management treats its customers
Location: Lots to do in this area of Westchester.
Check in was fine except the rooms are located all around the property. We could not find parking on a cold rainy night. Request to a manager is still unanswered. There are many other hotels in the area at comparable prices to compel you to stay here.
