Had a great time at this hotel, it's nice to walk around the estate, we used pool which was great . Rooms nice and clean Great service Too bad the check in is too late and check out is too early

Quiet, relaxing. Great tavern restaurant & drinks!

Lots to see and do in Tarrytown. Hotel staff was helpful, adults only pool was fabulous though sadly, it closes at 6:00pm. Get there early enough to enjoy it and stroll the grounds. Fun games in the tavern too!

Service and questions about area was great. Assisted with transportation questions. Only items to mention were cobwebs in room, Fairfield sign was spelled incorrectly which bothered me when passing in Rockland bldg

Nice place for a wedding, Incompetent Staff

Location: Sightseeing
Nice historic location for a wedding or party, but the desk and reservation staff were very unprofessional. Wait staff and Cellar 49 manager were excellent, it was just the desk staff that lacked professionalism. First I got "bumped" from my reserved room in the Kings mansion 3 days before our visit I reserved a month earlier.(the replacement room was sufficient, but in a newer less historic part of the hotel) We were there for a wedding and were trying to check in early but room was not ready. I asked the lady at the front desk to call me when it was and she refused saying, "sometimes it gets busy and I wont be able to call you" We checked in about 3 hours later after "checking" with them to find out if our room was ready about 4 times. We requested a car service to take us to the airport at 615am in the morning as we had a flight to catch at La Guardia in NYC and it didn't get done. Luckily we got up early and the morning desk man got us a cab on the way quickly. We weren't the only ones without a car service the next morning, another couple had the same issue as us. Waiters were great, service was great, and the food was very good! They need a NEW MANAGER for reservations/ front desk.

Beautiful, relaxing experience.

Overall, the experience was exactly as I imagine a weekend getaway to be. The hotel was beautiful and the room extremely comfortable, with a great outdoor pool with a poolside cabana grill for food and drinks. There was plenty to do for the weekend and we didn't want to leave.

shower faucet was broken, they had someone came and replace it immediately. Very comfortable hotel room

Secluded and great location.

Location: Washington Irving's house is nearby. Close to other attractions and restaurants.
The room was fine. The staff was great--except for the bartender at the restaurant who ignored us at the bar until we finally just left. There were 3 other people at the bar and the man he was talking to. We gave up after 2 or 3 minutes. Check in can be lengthy but worth it. It would be nice if the restaurant was open for lunch every day. Really, though, we had a good time.

1/2 hour wait to check in . Staff slow and inadequate. NO ac in lobby while waiting . Sweltering hot at 89 degrees. Staff gave lip service to requests and/ or issues reported. Pool area tiny with very inadequate seating in relation to # of guests. Pool rule. Adults only 21+ - several underage children in pool. No staff enforcement of rules.
