The pool is amazing, and on that basis this place is great for families. Customer service not good at main exception, also the fact you aren't allowed to take any form of food or drink to the pool isn't great (feels like a way to extract more money out if families).
Nice room, clean and convenient. Amazing view of the lake. Housekeeper comes early, even if you are still sleeping/ not checking out. Some maintenance staff tried to come in to check the shower at 9ish, sounded suspicious, didnt even wait after knocking before trying to barge into the room.
Enjoyed my stay, spacious room and huge bathroom with bath and separate shower. Got a good deal with breakfast. Buffet breakfast was just wonderful, good selection of cereal, pastries and hot food. Had 3 choices to be cooked on order eg, pancake, omelette. Buffett system was explained thoroughly ...
We often stay in Taupo for both work and leisure. This was an overnight trip and we didn't check in until after 6pm and checked out early the next morning. We used the pool and the private grotto in the evening and these are lovely - very relaxing.
