Bad reviews are unfair

After I booked I read a number of bad reviews and panicked a bit. As soon as I arrived I realised the bad reviews were completely unfair. The staff were amazing - nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was amazing. The rooms were clean and well maintained. The pool area isn't well laid out but a clean outdoor poor that's a stone throw from the beach was gold for young kids.

Visitor Beware

Just came off a very disappointing weekend at Herod's. As others have noted, the rooms are in terrible shape, especially on the lower floors. The pool area is way too small for the number of guests that the hotel holds so finding chairs is almost impossible if the hotel is full. While some staff members were very nice, the hotel is very poorly run and communication between staff is terrible. We had to argue that breakfast was included in our reservation and after a half hour argument, we gave up and paid. At checkout they realized that we were right and refunded it. They also messed up our dinner reservation at the hotel. Finally, after paying through Hotels.com, they tried to charge us again for the room until someone more senior at checkout (after 15 minute argument) came around and saw that we were right. It is not just the facilities that need an upgrade. It is management.....

will never stay at this hotel again

we got the room that was just painted, called front desk, spoke to Saeed and he promissed to do it, and juat simply ignored it. checked in at 8pm, later at night when we came back from the event, spoke to Sandra, have lady, who really wanted to help us, but we didn't want to pack at midnight and change the room. asked for a later check out, was told should not be an issue and we should come in the morning to ask for this exception. When we came, this guy Saeed again gave us an attitude. note to the management, this guy will help you loose more of your future customers. I also own a big company and my receptionist is the face of my company.

Somewhat shabby place. Good location. Breakfast was charged to me without telling me there was any kind of charge for it.

It was ok. Front desk the first night not to helpful . The people that works at night at the front desk at. Igor time are not nice

The hotel smelled. The pool water smelled like sulfur. I couldn't stay in it as it's a trigger for my asthma. Every day we asked for an extra bar of soap. One for the showe and a separate one for the sink. We never received one. The breakfast was horrible inedible the coffee was lousy. And it cost a fortune. When we left the restaurant our first morning of eating there I told the seating staff how terrible it was. It actually made my husband and I ill for hours. When we went back to the hotel later that day after walking around the city we told a desk person how disappointed we were in the breakfast and she appologized and told us to go eat in the business lounge instead , which we never did, but was gracious now it's time to check out and they charged us 60.09 for the breakfast. I was furious and told them I complained how terrible it was to two separate people and they told me I should have asked for a refund. In the states if you complain about food , the owners or wait staff bend over backwards to make things right. They offer, in the states to fix the issue. Here at heroes they said it was my fault for not asking for a refund. Trrribke business. I would never return

Making the best of what the facility offers

On the whole we had a nice stay...the staff is exceptional but the elevator situation during peak usage times is horrible. For some reason there was insufficient lighting in the living area of our suite, but the value was good overall.

Hotel with the worst smell in the world.

I don't know what happened but there was a big sewage leak and all I smelt was sewage the whole stay. It was awful, I couldn't keep my windows open or even think about getting to the pool. It was actually the worst smell, I checked out and moved to another hotel.
