Nice location, beautiful scenic surroundings

Pros: Clean, beautiful surroundings. Warm and friendly staff.
Cons: Nothing
Location: town centre close by, good restaurants and bars
My sister and I went for a weekend break. Great hotel, beautiful scenic surroundings overlooking the restaurant and the spa. Excellent spa facilities. Very warm and friendly staff in the hotel and the spa. We loved it so much we have rebooked to come back in October and this time we have booked more spa treatments. Southwater not far, short taxi drive and has great restaurants and bars, we even watched a movie at Cineworld as it was all on the same complex. Excellent weekend, highly recommend this hotel.

Weekend break

Very nice hotel and staff very friendly. Clean and very good breakfast. Lo Ely surrondi vs and nice outside seating to take in views

Good golfing hotel, near to Ironbridge museums

Pros: Modern. Excellent golf facilities.
Cons: When we stayed the hotel was hosting a wedding reception and a couple of golf tournaments. They simply couldn't cope with the numbers.
Location: Ironbridge Museums. Telford
Good value hotel, although rooms were small and no bath (only shower)

Recommended Hotel-Excellent Location

All staff were friendly, helpful and good fun at this modern, spacious hotel. It is located a stones throw away from all the must see attractions in beautiful Shropshire, ie Blists Hill, Iron Bridge etc. Our room was clean, quiet and comfortable with lovely views across to hills beyond the golf course. Complimentary breakfast was excellent, the only negative was that we felt that the restaurant evening meals were over priced. We would definitely stay again.

Catalogue of disasters

Just avoid this hotel. Wrong food came, then when correct food did arrive it was terrible. Duck overcooked but fat not rendered down and skin still white,. Vegetarian lasagna was just aubergine! Staff told us that there are always complaints about the food. I could write about the faults for hours but suffice to say, just avoid it.

Nice quiet hotel

Pros: The quiet
Cons: Some of the in ternal fittings
Location: Ironbridge and the ten museums plus the raft ride on the severn
a lovely hotel some of the furnishings within our room were a chipped and worn and no gideons bible

Fab stay

Lovely hotel; restaurant overlooks the gorge and the location is ideal for visits to Ironbridge and museums. Room was nicely decorated, clean and comfy bed. Breakfast was good and staff were friendly. We had such a nice time that we came back again.

Beeping smoke alarms throughout the night

Woken up throughout the night due to the smoke alarm outside my room beeping. Called reception at 2am to be told "Oh yes, it beeps to test itself but people keep complaining", "Really? Surely you should do something about it then?" was my response. Staff kindly moved me to another room while I was out all day, but failed to tell me. I then walked into my old room and scared some poor lady to death (scared myself as well), the member of staff on reception then tried to blame me, even though I had asked her if I could move rooms 5 minutes earlier. Will be chasing a refund for this, shame as the hotel is actually nice, food was OK and the rest of the staff were very good, but I stay in a hotel to sleep and if something as stupid as a smoke alarm testing itself at 2am is going to wake me up then it's pointless...I might have well driven the 5 hour round trip back home, at least the only person I'll find in my bed is my wife (hopefully)
