Staff very friendly.Posted Sep 13, 2017
Staff was very nice. Rooms were nice but dated. Parking was not abundant but they offered an off street parking permit.

A basic place to sleep for the nightPosted Sep 11, 2017
Pros: Location, the few off-street parking spaces were convenient.
Cons: More ventilation in ground-level rooms. Serving breakfast before 8am. At a very basic level, letting guests know how to check out before 7:30am.
Location: Heart of downtown Telluride. Gondola around the corner, plenty of restaurants and shops.
Consistent with many other reviews I read before booking at The Victorian Inn, I found the Inn to be in a great location in downtown Telluride - very easy to find. The check-in process was smooth, with a woman and a man at the front desk assisting us. Also consistent with prior reviews, we were assigned a ground-level room, which had a strange smoke-like odor to it. We notified the front desk and the woman came down with us and denied smelling any smoke. In all fairness, we were unsure whether it was smoke or mustiness, and after opening the window for an hour, the odor dissipated. Also consistent with other travelers, we needed to get on the road early, and were confused that the office did not open until 7:30am, and there were no instructions regarding check-out when staff were not on premises. We tried calling the "emergency" after-hours number posted, but nobody answered. Several minutes later, the same woman walked to the office door and rudely told us that they do not open until 7:30am. We replied that we could well read the sign posted, and were not looking for an exception to be fed early, but instead needed to know how to do a basic task in the hospitality world - check out before 7:30am - so we could get on the road. If odor-free, well-ventilated rooms and patient hosts are high values for you, staying here will probably bother you. However, if you can overlook these and just want a place to lay your head in Telluride, I'm sure you'll be fine.

Nice hotel, bad roomPosted Sep 11, 2017
Pros: Perfect location, very clean, in-room refrigerator, parking handled well
Cons: Bed size, room ventilation,
Location: Telluride is a perfect little town in any season
We booked a Classic Room. When checking in we were given a key and told it was on the ground floor. As we were late for an engagement, we didn't check that the room was acceptable. It was not and we should have requested a change. The room was noisy (on the street) but worse was that it was just below ground level with two very small windows near the ceiling that provided no air, light. or view. The room was stuffy and uncomfortable. This was a good reminder never to accept the first room offered without looking it it. We would gladly have paid for an upgrade had we been informed that this was probably the worst room in the hotel. Other than that, the hotel is perfectly located and well maintained. Well, sort of -- when my husband tried to hang a towel on the hook it popped out of the wall. Also, the bed was billed as a queen but felt more like a full. I can't vouch for that as didn't measure.

Loved our hotel! and the tiny, idyllic town!Posted Sep 11, 2017
Pros: Perfectly situated to all of our wedding events and perfectly situated in Telluride. It was close to gondola ski lift-free in summer, wow the view!
Location: Perfect location! One block away from beautiful main street with shops/restaurants. Two blocks from free gondola in summer-great trip over mountain!
Our hotel was charming, small, and in a perfect spot for our wedding events which we walked to. The room was great and seemed updated. Great bedding with firm bed and pillows. Good for someone who had trouble walking: The free Galloping Goose bus stopped on our corner to take you around even though the town is just blocks-long. Only drawback for someone who might need a lot of privacy or quiet was that people would sit out, particularly on Saturday night, on the patio and sound really carried, but it didn't bother me!

Great location in downtown Telluride.Posted Sep 7, 2017
Cons: No air conditioning. We were there in the summer and it was hot.
Location: Great location near river walking trail, gondola, and Main Street with many good restaurants and shops.
So convenient to Main Street, the walking trail along the river, and the gondola. The shower had an automatic shower gel dispenser and we asked to have it refilled since it was empty and it never got done. Very helpful in getting the TV to work.

Basic, averagePosted Sep 2, 2017
We arrived early and weren't expecting to check in but thought we would see if there was a room available just in case. We were greeted with an unfriendly staff member who was curt and a little sarcastic. She offered no advice on the local area and this was the least friendly and helpful reception we've had throughout ou r 2 week trip in the States. Breakfast was OK but the room was in the main reception area which was small and offered only 3 tiny tables so there was a queue to sort and eat - didn't make for a relaxing start to the day. The room was clean and bed comfortable. Fine for a quick stopover but not outstanding

Terrible stay ... close to main street is its onlyPosted Aug 29, 2017
Very crowded for breakfast ... ate at a restaurant instead. Room was tiny, minimal towels, bed was very hard and uncomfortable .. we were told we have a kng bed then upon check in were told there aren't any, only doubles. The whole stay was unbearable.

It's Right in TownPosted Aug 24, 2017
Pros: Location, location, location.
Cons: A/C in rooms. (Yes, I know, you can't retrofit a/c here).
The Victorian Inn will never be mixed up with one of the fancy properties in the Mountain Village but those places aren't right smack in the middle of Telluride. From the inn, you're a short walk to nearly all the main features along Main Street and, if you want, about a ten minute walk to the town park. In the winter you're a short jog to the Gondola. My only quibble is that the rooms lack air conditioning and Telluride can get a bit warm on summer afternoons. They've compensated somewhat with twin window fans. The staff was excellent and very helpful at every turn. When we return to Telluride this is where we'll stay.

Worked well for our one short night.Posted Aug 23, 2017
We got in late at night but the clerk left the key for us. It was a clean room with pedestrian interior. The location was excellent and we had no problems with any disturbance. We then left early in the morning and that was it. Beautiful town and a decent place to stay.
