Unknown renovations

Posted Mar 28, 2018
Didn’t know the hotel was being renovated until after I checked in and paid. The water was turned off everyday from 11 am to 3 pm. This also meant we could not use the pool/jacuzzi, nor shower, flush the toilet, or use the sink. Very disappointing since our rate was not cheap!!!! Our shower drain did not work and we had to use a spoon to prop it up. The hallway stunk like glue from the wallpaper. Overall bad experience!

wait until construction is finished

Posted Mar 17, 2018
The facility is undergoing heavy renovation. There are times with no water (no shower in the morning) and no wifi (a few hours the first day). Wait until the renovation is completed - there are other hotels in the area.

comfortable stay.

The Hotel is getting a major renovation and will be wonderful when finished. Our room was already redecorated and was very comfortable. I would recommend staying there. Close to ASU and on a street with restaurants. Also is near to St Luke's Hospital, Tempe.

Arrived at 11:00 pm entire hotel covered in plastic drop cloth and scaffolding construction going on sawing hammering rooms filed with dusty air. Hard to breathe....

Under construction

Posted Dec 20, 2017 on Hotels
Hotel was torn apart due to renovations, however this was not disclosed at the time of booking. Lobby and main hallway were a total mess! I understand and appreciate the need of making improvements to the property but it would be nice to know at the time of booking. I would have booked elsewhere.

Pros: Took care of our needs
We had an excellent stay at the hotel even though it was being remodeled

I had a very poor experience with both the hotel and hotels.com. I booked 3 rooms for myself and colleagues, upon arrival my personal reservation was not in the system and the hotel was sold out. I had to share rooms with a colleague instead of staying separate at a different hotel that was offered by Hotels.com. The hotel itself was under construction, which should have been noted in the listing.

Problems during renovation

Posted Nov 25, 2017
Pros: the staff made attempts to rectify inconveniences by offering a gift basket and made efforts to rectify some problems, even though, not immediate.
Cons: Advise customer's to receive a discount during renovation, to determine whether this would be okay first. Provide honest advertising.
Location: off of Apache and nearby many events, but we came with one purpose in mind. We were visiting friends to embrace Thanksgiving celebrations
During renovation, there were numerous issues of inconvenience, which were not advised in advance. For example, the hot water was not working, then the telephone went out. Walking in the lobby was initially dirty and no efforts were made to clean it up during renovation. No advise in advance that the hotel was being renovated so when wanting to use a computer, access was in the laundry room. The initial encounter did not match what was online, the room was shorter than usual and I had to pay for an upgrade to have the additional space. The hotel staff knew we were checked in, and came during our absence when not requested. Then the rates advertised with Expedia differed with their offerings and every turn, there were issues. Also, moving from one room to the next was not supported.
