If you are willing to play room roulette its 4*

Posted Jun 8, 2017
Pros: great location and pool, breakfast choice good
Cons: it seems they place bookings from third party in these noisy rooms under the restaurant, avoid the rooms mentioned above and refuse to go in them
Location: great beaches, shoppping and excursions
We travelled to this hotel on 30th May 2017, our first beach holiday in four years booked through Expedia. On arrival this hotel is all grandeur and finery, modern and classy. The staff were a little aloof on the check in desk, and we weren't even given basic information such as times for breakfast or check out. The porter staff were great and friendly as they carried our luggage the allocated room. 431. On first impression a great sized room, clean and very classically decorated, clean lines etc. Then we noticed something really strange... scraping scraping scraping and lots of it. My husband remembered reading a review about room 431 on here, so looked it up. And the same noise had been heard by several people on several occasions. Room 431 is located directly underneath the restaurant ( tiled floor and metal chair legs) the noise we were hearing was people moving chairs and the staff cleaning and tidying. We thought we would give it a go as the restaurant was due to stop serving at 22:00. That's when the nightmare occurred. We arrived back from our meal at 23:00. There was still scraping so we called reception and asked when the staff would stop cleaning. We were told in about 5 mins. 01:30am is started again so I went up banged on door and asked them to stop, what could they possibly need to move tables for at that hour is they had cleaned until 23:30? So they did but at 04:30am it stated again as staff set up for breakfast even though it didn't start

Out on its own

Posted May 26, 2017
Pros: Staff , pool lovely for swimmers and clean hotel.
Cons: As above
Location: Did in paragraph above there is nothing around
Pool not good for non swimmers. Walk to any bit of activity too far nothing around. Could review the food not for everyone sum amount of waste food and all that are starving. Review your way of charging people who order a drink with meal you'd feel like a criminal you even pay for water. Time for towels should be for all day not just 10.00 to 12.00 & 16.00 to 18.00. Could do with having a courtesy bus in evening to Las America .

Relaxing hotel in a good location

Posted May 12, 2017
Pros: friendly staff, good location (near beach, siam park, bars and restaurants and 20 min drive from the airport)
Cons: cleanliness of the chairs during breakfast.
Location: 10 min walk from the beach. About a 15-20 min drive from bars and restaurants. 10-20 min drive from the airport. Near popular clubs like Papagayo.
This is a lovely relaxing hotel which. The reception area is beautiful. The food is average, but there are restaurants nearby. The staff are lovely, friendly and attentive. The rooms are pretty big, I was surprised, but we had a balcony view of the car park, it didn't bother us much though. The hotel is a 10 min from the beach, the beach wasn't that nice though, it had black sand and looked a bit dirty. There are bars, clubs and restaurants about a 10-15 minute drive away. There are 2 restaurants in the hotel, one italian and one spanish buffet. the italian is really good! We had the spanish buffet for lunch which was okay. Overall, had a lovely trip.

Nice hotel but a few downsides.

Posted May 9, 2017
We enjoyed our holiday. This hotel is up quite a steep hill so not good for anyone with walking difficulties. The gym was very disappointing with a lack of equipment and the beds in the room were too firm and quite uncomfortable. However there are a lot of good qualities to this hotel. The pool is lovely and the staff are very attentive. They also offer a very good entertainment program if this is something you want from your holiday.

Great hotel built into the hillside

Posted Apr 6, 2017
Pros: The pool area is wonderful
Cons: The plumbing
Location: It is a bit of a hike from the seafront
Stayed for a week at the end of March on B&B basis. We were given a 'quiet room' which meant it was distant from the terrace which had entertainment most nights, which was ideal since we wanted a relaxing break. Room had a small terrace with table and chairs so good for relaxed reading/drinking. Hotel has been given a spruce up and looks good for it but it still has noisy plumbing, not too obtrusive, just noticeable. We only ate breakfast in the hotel but the buffet was excellent with a huge choice. The hotel is built into the side of the hill with various levels from the reception (level 5) down to the pool area (level -1), there are landscaped walkways between the various areas and also lifts so access is generally good throughout

Some thoughts about this hotel

Posted Mar 23, 2017 on Hotels
The hotel was very good. We had a very large room and it was clean with good facilities. The food was good, not very good, but no one went hungry and there was a lot of choice. The hotel is built on the side of a hill and goes up in terraces. We had to take two lifts to get us from the room to the dining room. So it isn't so great for disabled guests or those who are unsteady on their feet. The pool area is very large and there were lots of sun beds, although we were there outside of the main holiday seasons of course. The Wi Fi in the hotel is good and reasonably fast.

Check the type of rooms available

Posted Mar 21, 2017
Pros: great views from the hotel and the level service was great
Cons: separate dining area for the evening meal for level guests and remember you get what you pay for
Location: good location and views, but not close enough to the beach although a free bus services is available
disappointed with garden view room, we overlooked houses and a walkway. we could hear noise from early morning from the breakfast/dining room and kitchens. we could only use one of the pools which was noisy and crowded we paid for an upgrade to the level which was so much better and was able to use the much quieter pool and breakfast in the Level reception area

Spacious in good location but avoid room 643

Posted Mar 15, 2017
Pros: Helpful staff speaking perfect English. Lovely pool areas.
Cons: Some parts seemed tired. (Our bath had a patch)
Location: Located between the Motorway and beach with Shuttle to Playa del Duque. Good walk along beach to La Caleta where there are lots of small restaurants.
Lovely room shame about the twice-nightly bin collection under our balcony. Reception said we couldn't move till after 2nd night by which time we had earplugs so didn't move as they couldn't let us see replacement room and we would have had to leave all our belongings in reception till the room was vacated and cleaned in the afternoon. Buffet dinner not a particularly high standard though breakfast was fine. The hotel's a la carte restaurant Casa Nostra was much better yet a similar price. Other restaurants nearby were good especially the Vecchio. Handy shops in reception for papers and most essentials. Shuttle to beach ran 3 times down until 1230 then last one back 1800.
