Hotel is equal distance between two metro stations. There are a number of grocery stores and restaurants in the area. No AC, fan or kettle in the room. One bathroom light was out the entire trip (i was there for a week), and i was promised that it would be fixed, didn't happen.. Elevator is claustrophobic and was avoided except on arrival and departure when I had my luggage. Big signs on the outside of hotel offering rooms for 45 Euros, not certain of the details of that offer. Wifi was good.. Not in the middle of Paris, but Metro makes it convenient. Very few escalators or elevators in Paris metro stations, lots of stairs

Comfortable stay near train station
This nice guest house had everything we needed for our stay in Rome....a comfortable bed, fridge, table and chair, kettle and light breakfast items. It is only a short walk straight down the road to this property, and there are a number of restaurants and cafes nearby. If you are an avid walker, you can walk to all areas including the Vatican, but buses and the metro are located very close by. The family running this guesthouse were very helpful and we got a good orientation to the area. It is a safe place to stay and we would not hesitate to stay here in the future. Thanks for a comfortable stay!

A very good stay,
Mr Guseppe was an excellent host. He was expecting us and escorted us to the room. He explained and gave all the necessary information. He was always available and whenever you needed some information he was available. he made you feel welcome. The accommodation was spotless as were the public areas. Breakfast is not included but croissants coffee etc are provided every day in the room which is an excellent idea.The hotel is situated very close to bus routes and tram and is 15 minutes away from the train station by walk.. Its a pity that part of the area needs to be tidied up. Overall it was a very good stay and would definitely stay again at La rotella nel sacco.

Family owned business. It is clean and room service is prompt everyday. Cons: no front desk where someone is readily available. Bed is hard. Pros: good location for a reasonnable price. Clean.

The rooms where to small
We requested single beds in both our rooms which was confirmed by the hotel when we arrived we were told one of the rooms only had a double bed and because the room was so small they could not put a roll away bed in there. Not happy however had to accept as they had no more rooms and we had paid in advance. They should change the way they advertise there breakfast as it’s not a continental breakfast it’s a few bits of cakes on a tray that’s left in your room the day before you don’t get any cereal or milk or juice etc. The area where the hotel is situated is very run down and not suitable for families of couples just for groups.

Lovely B&B
Stayed in Rome for three nights. Hotel is a 25 min walk to colosseum and also walking distance to Termini. Margerita was lovely and explained everything about transport and where to visit etc. Very clean beautiful room. With basic toiletries and hairdryer. great stay overall, especially for the price. Breakfast is hot drinks and ready packaged pastries, biscuits, cakes etc available in the room.

Very polite owner
This is a family own hotel and u will be greeted by the owner at arrival . So : POSITIVE : lyna is great and very lovely she received me and explained everything in detail to me and was extremely polite , the room is great and clean you will get ur own key to enter the building since there is no reception u will feel like u own a room in rome . NEGATIVE: part of the area that sorround the hotel feels unsafe many strange people walking around... also they could improve the breakfast a little bit is just basics with no fruits or fresh breads

Great Find
The hotel was not far from the train station. The hotel is very clean and the room was spacious. The bathroom was clean and modern and the shower was larger than average Italian showers I have used. The location is still in the city proper but a bit of a walk to the most popular tourist attractions. You are however very close to metro stops, tram stops and bus stops. This hotel is very good value for money. The manager gave a very good orientation on how to get around I would stay at this hotel again.

Nice Hotel, simple and fit for purpose
I had four nights in rome and I stayed at La rottela hotel which we impressed with welcoming of Ms. Margreta. She give us all the information to facilitate our stay in rome such as transportation facilities , resturants and tourist passes. The rome is very clean and air conditioned. Breakfast was average. Location is very accessable by public transportation( bus , tram and metro) is just beside the hotel few meters away. I would strongly recommend this hotel as i feel very value for money.

Amazing stay, amazing place and amazing host. The room and amenities were really great. The room and bathroom were newly renovated and everything was just amazing and simple and great taste! We were able to make cappuccino in the morning and were given some croissants and waffles for breakfast. Our host was really helpful and friendly. Good wifi. Loved it!

Great budget hotel
Very clean. Information and map was provided by the hostess which were very helpful. Close to public transit. 15-20 minute walk radius to termini (very doable). Busses and trains accessible less than 5 minutes. We felt safe (though the grafiti on the walls leading to the hotel was a bit stetchy at first) We were very very pleasantly surprised with the building and room. Shower was spacious for European standards from my experience. We had breakfast snacks restocked in the room everyday (coffee, tea, toasts, croissants, bread). The main kitchen area (couldn't use the stove but had a sink and fridge at our disposal) was shared with another room but we never had issues with the guests during our stay...did not even cross paths with them. Overall a very good place for the price.

A quick overnight stay
A brief stay between airport and the Roma Termini. Everyone was helpful and when we needed to ask questions the phone enabled us to speak with Marguerite who put us on the correct bus to the Termini. Our room was clean and comfortable.

One night stay before going home
It was close to the main train station termini so walking there is doable less than a mile. Clean rooms good size for 2 people. Helpful and liked it very much. Only con was phone listed on hotels.com was not working so couldn't reach hotel that way. They may need to update it.

Nice, clean, updated and roomy.
The owner goes out of her way to help her customers. She provided the best customer service ever. The only thing I didn't like was walking from termini to hotel. We should of taken the bus/metro.

Convenient and clean hotel
The hotel itself is really nice. The room was spotless and had everything we needed. The owners were really friendly, the welcome was lovely and we got really good information about transport and what to see. The only downside is the local area is a bit run down but for access to the Colosseum and all the other sights in Rome the hotel was ideal.

Location Very, Very, Very noisy day and night. Check out time is 10:00 AM !!!!! They should remove advertising "Free Breakfast included"..... IT IS NOT TRUE, unless you consider 8 plastic raped sweet pastry is breakfast!!!!!! Very misleading statement.

Great B&B made special by the people
As others have commented it can be a little noisy at this hotel, however the lovely management really made the whole holiday experience amazing for us. We were recommended local restaurants, sights to see (in order of importance) and where to get transportation. If you know Rome well you might want to consider somewhere else but given how you are treated here and unsurpassed local knowledge this hotel is definitely worth a second look.

First off, this is more like a B&B than a hotel. That being said, I doubt there's any hotel staff can be more friendly and helpful than the B&B host herself. The location was pretty decent, only one tram ride to Termini and one to Colosseo. The host provides detailed information for transportation and neighborhood eats which was awesome to me because I arrived late without having dinner. Would recommend this place to everyone who wants to explore Rome without having to worry about transportation. Oh did I mention this room has air conditioner (could be critical during summer) and a built in kitchen?

Helpful friendly owner. Clean well appointed room. Unfortunately bed and pillow both not to my comfort, both flat and hard. Room described as having double glazing but that does little to block the road and train noise early morning. Guess it's fine if you are used to city noises. Good location for easy city transport to all major sites. Air con great in the heat we had.

An excellent place to stay in Rome
I was really impressed with my stay at La Rotella nel Sacco. It was more of a guest house than a hotel itself (which was really nice as it made it more personal), with a couple of flats shared between two groups of guests, we had our private bedroom and en-suite then shared at kitchen dining area with another group, we were given keys for the main door, the appartment and the room so there was never any concerns. Due to the hot weather we were very grateful for the air conditioning and the freezer that was available to keep us and our food and drinks cool. There was a selection of breakfast items in the room that were changed daily so we could eat when we wanted.The hotel is near a big road so there was often traffic noise but when the windows were shut it was fine. The hotel was only a 10 minute walk from Termini station and several metro stops so travelling anywhere in Rome was very easy, with the Colosseum being only a 20/30 minute walk. Margherita, the owner, gave us lots of really helpful information about nearby restaurants and transport as well as the best way to visit the various different attractions in the city and how to get tickets, we found this extremely useful. I would definitely recommend La Rotella nel Sacco to others and would definitely stay again.

Very very nice hotel close to everything
The hotel is really nice, located in porta maggiore where every kind of transportation passes just near the hotel and takes u anywhere in rome get very very calm at night, and if u need to to some place else just hop on the 50-140-105 bus to termini (15mins by walkin) and from there u can go anywhere. Margherita the owner is amazing, i have not seen a hotel owner better and friendlier than her, she helped us with directions and everything and even helped through a surprise party for my girlfriend by bringing me flowers and cake to the room before we checked in. U will also be provided with a thoroughly clear explanation and a map for the city by owner. Downsides are minor and they are: room was small and bathroom so tiny, no elevator but buldg is only 2 floors bug very narrow stairs. We visited in may and it was very cold, yet there was no heating, when we asked owner said that heating is not allowed this year in the city (city rules). Breakfast is soem corriosant and toast brough in the room every morning. Over all experience is very pleasing considering the price and most i,portantly the location which is great great great

I can't express how much I enjoyed staying at La Rotella nel Sacco while in Rome. It is more than just a hotel, it was my second home in Rome. After my stay, I completely understand why people who have stayed there raved about Margherita & the hotel. She wend beyond and above to ensure guests' stay at hotel was more than enjoyable. I got my purse & IPhone stolen in Rome while staying at her hotel, and she was more than willing to help me out taking care of problems. After the incident, I can say my stay at her place was about the only positive thing I will remember about Rome. Her hotel is VERY clean, convenient location with great public transportations just out the door. Worth every penny you pay for!!!

We arrived to discover that our room was not as wheelchair accessible as thought. The staff quickly made arrangements for us to have another room that was better. This hotel is not wheelchair accessible for someone who is in a wheelchair but we had a child in a chair that could be lifted up the two flights of stairs to a lovely room.

Great little b&b in the heart of Rome
Very comfortable stay, travelled extensively on the plentiful and cheap trams, buses and trains to visit all the major sites in Rome and beyond. Very friendly owner who made sure that we had the best experience from our stay. We've stayed twice at this hotel and plan to return next year.

Nice Hostel in Rome
We stayed here for two nights. Nice room, very convenient to take the bus to go at the Coliseum and the Vatican and other important museums. Margharita was a very helpful person who show you where and how to go around by public transportation. Good breakfast. Big enough room for two people but not for three or more, a little tight but it work OK.

Great hotel for the money, very clean. Margarita, the woman who runs the hotel is very nice. She emailed and texted me when I booked with Expedia the same day to make sure that I could get there all right. She helped us plan our next day activities, and was amazingly friendly. The room was very nice, and it was a comfortable place to stay. It is about a 25 minute walk away from the coliseum, or two blocks over to the metro. She recommended we eat at a restaurant about a block and a half away, and that was very good as well, and affordable too. I was worried about the low price, and thought that the place may not be very nice, but we were pleasantly surprised. The neighborhood isn't that great, but I think it might definitely be average for Rome.

We had to go to a different hotel for our first night due to a plumbing problem but apart from that we had a lovely stay. She explained everything when we arrived about where to go and how to get there and places to eat (very informative).

The room is surprisingly comfortable, nice and clean!!! when we are arrived, the host explained the Rome to us very detail and clearly. It is very thoughtful!! Also, the room is perfect! There are clean toilet and kitchen, the bed is big and comfortable. Everything is perfect!!!! The location also is good! Only four stops by the tram to termini. It is a great experience in here!!!!
