Reasonable hotel close to the archeological sites

Posted Aug 19, 2017
Pros - friendly, helpful staff - can't really fault them at all - close to the main station and archeological sites (forum, colosseum etc) - good variety of breakfast options - complimentary tea and coffee in the room and they gave us more tea bags on request - good air con - nice spacious lobby where you can wait if you have some time to kill whilst waiting for a train or plane etc. Cons - dinner was cheap, however it was not the best quality - decor could be updated - double table cloths, lots of curtains and material everywhere which obviously makes it difficult to clean - we spotted silverfish on two separate occasions. Once in our bathroom in the middle of the night and once at dinner running across our table. Probably due to the excessive amount of material being used everywhere. - the balcony needed some TLC. It had a smashed piece of glass and was pretty grubby Overall, the hotel was good, I just think the place needs some redecorating. This would help everyone involved.

location in center of classic Rome

Posted Aug 12, 2017
Pros: location, service, excellent breakfast, helpful front desk, cleanliness
Cons: several small 1 traveler rooms, have very small showers!
location close to classic attractions, and with Metro located literally at the front door, is hard to beat.

Easy access to all tourist attractions

Posted Aug 12, 2017
Pros: Nice friendly family run hotel
Cons: Maybe have some entertainment in bar lounge in the evenings
Location: Ideal location with subway station right at door unfortunately was closed for renovations while we were there but only 10 mins to main station
From the day we arrived until the day we checked out we were well looked after by all the friendly staff. They were most helpful with directions and maps of the area.

Perfect for tourists!

Posted Aug 11, 2017
Pros: We liked that it was in the center of Rome.
Cons: A few updates on rooms, such as bathrooms but overall it was nice.
Location: The location is great, in front of a park. There are a lot of restaurants, coffee shops and many street vendors.
This hotel was nice but a little small for what we are used to. However we were pleased with the staff and how close it was to tall the tourist attractions. Breakfast was not bad, it was a "European" experience, it did save us a lot of money so that was a plus! It was close to train stations and to the city.

Convenient to the Metro.

Posted Aug 10, 2017
Pros: I liked the location being close to the metro and the spacious lounge for one to relax in. The hotel is family run and has a homely feel.
Cons: The breakfast presentation needs improving and standardized. Cheese extra thick some days. Some breakfast staff need more training.
Location: Great location
A family run older style hotel with a homely feel. One early morning breakfast and staffer wasn't very welcoming. Good morning would have been nice. The breakfast presentation needs improving and standardization ( some days were better than others) it varied greatly from day to day.

Not too far from Termini Station

Posted Aug 9, 2017
This place did not disappoint. What you see in the picture is what you get. Everything was beautiful and clean. The staff were helpful and thoughtful, sending us off with breakfast when we checked out and breakfast was not ready yet. You can walk to this hotel coming from the train station or you can take the Metro (subway) by taking the A train going to Anagnina and getting off at Vittorio Emanuele, which is only one stop from the station. The hotel is only a few steps away from the subway exit. This hotel is not a detatched building by itself, so don't get confused when you are looking for it. Napoleon hotel is housed inside a HUGE building. Breakfast selection was good and the Danish steak and special veal at their restaurant was delicious! This place is pretty close to the colloseum and there are nearby restaurants and shops, as well.

Comfortable hotel near Termini

Posted Aug 5, 2017
Pros: Staff. Breakfast. Good wifi. Quiet room. Slippers provided.
Location: Close to a couple of major sites. Had a hard time finding a place I wanted to eat at near by.
10 min walk to Termini. 15 min to Colosseum. Clean rooms, but a bit dated. Great breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff. As a solo female traveller I did not really like walking through the area by myself at night. I was more comfortable in other parts of the city I've stayed inon previous trips.

Thank you for your comment about the Hotel. Regarding the location: I guess you did not ask our Concierge for information about restaurants, there are several good restaurants next to the Hotel. Regarding your impression about safety of the area I have to assure you that in the 55 yeaars that my family runs the Hotel, the area is totally safe and not any negative situation happened to Guests staying in the hotel. Rome is a peaceful and welcoming town, without any risk, we reccomend to pay attentio to the pick-pockets on the metro and bus, but that is the same in every town of the world. With my kindest regards Roberto Cioce Hotelier

Amazing staff, and Steps from the subway

Posted Aug 3, 2017
Pros: The most appealing part of the hotel is its staff. They are the friendliest, most welcoming and accommodating staff we encountered in our 6 city stay.
Cons: The hotel itself is a bit run down and could use an update. It was surely grand in earlier days, but could be refreshed
Location: Though it is not in the most desirable part of town, it is safe, and there are a number of restaurants close by. The subway is only steps away.
The Napoleon Hotel is a bit removed from the central sites of the city but it is literally steps away from the main subway line that goes to the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Colliseum and other sites of interest. The hotel breakfast is adequate, but nothing too fancy.

Thank you for your kind comment.I would just like to point out that Napoleon is one of the hotels closest to the Colosseum and the Roman Forum, the Church of San Clemente, the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore and St. John in the Lateran, the Roman National Museum, and many other interesting places are at an easy walking distance. Looking forward to the pleasure of welcoming you again at the Hotel Napoleon, kind regards Roberto Cioce Hotelier

Lovely hotel in a run-down area

Posted Jul 31, 2017
Pros: Very helpful and attentive staff, pleasant restaurant, lovely common areas.
Cons: Nothing!
Location: Lots of tacky street vendors in what was obviously once a very nice area. However only 15 minutes walk away from the Colosseum.
The hotel is great but it is an oasis in a rather squalid area of dirty streets.
