Pros: Nice room, Nice lobby and good breakfast. Vers vers Kind staff!
Location: Newark termini and EasyJet to visit rome by walking.
Vert Nice hôtel, good good and thé staff ils kind and helpfull

Decent hotel horrible staff members

First things first DO NOT let Katerina choose your room. When I first walked in her face was filled with disgust. She certainly didn't stand behind Star Hotels brand of welcoming their clients with a smile. Even though we walked in and said "we would like to check in " she said "oh here at metropole?" as if she was shocked that a young minority couple such as us could afford this hotel. We paid for a non smoking room as my husband has severe asthma and when we walked in our room it was filled with smoke, my husband had to pull out his puffer immediately!! She placed us in a smoking room, the complete opposite of what we paid for. We had a walking tour booked, because of his asthma flaring up due to the room, we had to cancel out tour! Great going Katerina!! Your awesome for doing that, especially being that we came back down stairs to tell you that you placed us in the wrong room and you had this vindictive smirk on your face and not even an apology was given. l don't understand why she is in the hospitality industry and she isn't hospitable. I will definitely be writing an unfavourable letter to head quarters in regards to their inconsistency of what their branding is versus who they hire as their employees. This employee ruined the branding and I will NEVER consider star hotels again, if it was based my my interaction with KATERINA. Great hotel close to many attractions

We spent 2 nights at this hotel and booked a room with a balcony which I highly recommend as the balcony was huge (terrace like). We were pleasantly surprised by the size of a room as it was big by European standards, very clean with a king size bed and a large shower. Breakfast was included and was typical for all hotels we stayed throughout Italy. The hotel is close to the train station if you plan on traveling to another cities in Italy and is 10-15 min walk to Colosseum. The restaurant across the steet (Est Est Est) was delicious and well priced, we had best seafood risotto there. Didn't interact much with the staff but everyone seemed nice. Would definitely stay here again.

Lovely clean hotel . Staff at reception very helpful , check in and out quick and efficient. We arrived quite late 10pm had a pizza from the bar . Rooms are lovely , clean , crisp and just what you need after a busy day in Rome . Breakfast ok , lots of choice .

Lovely hotel, quiet street in great location

Pros: Location, rooms and staff.
Location: Near to the main station easy walk to Colossuem
Stayed here for a short break in Rome. We had a family room (2 connecting rooms) which was fantastic. Rooms were spacious with lovely high ceilings, clean and comfortable, with tea / coffee making facilities and safe. Buffet breakfast lovely, with something for everyone and staff throughout the hotel were all very helpful, friendly, efficient and very well organised. Hotel in quiet street and the air con in the room great after sightseeing on a hot day. Hotel booked taxis, which arrived within minutes but hotel was walking distance to some sites, long walk to Vatican but possible if you like to walk.

The baseboard trim in my room was badly damaged, patched with duct tape! The carpet was badly stained and threadbare. Management appeared shocked when I told them about it, which surprised me - it has obviously been in bad shape for awhile. Convenience to Termini is the only reason to stay here.

Comfortable stay

We booked for an one night stay in the basic room as we were in Rome to take a train up north. The proximity of the hotel to Termini station is a short 5-8 minute walk. Check in process was smooth and we received a nice upgraded room than we had booked. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. We had a room facing the inner courtyard, which provided quiet rest. The breakfast buffet included in our booking had a small variety of choices, but enough to get your fill before a long train ride.
