Pros: Quiet and comfortable
Cons: Bed comfort
Location: City tour
Very quite restful place surrounded by history. Away from the city and not crowded by tourist. The site itself holds a lot history and interest.

Hotel incrível... Uma viagem no tempo. Uma autêntica abadia com uma vista incrível da cidade! Mais que um hotel, é uma experiência.

Ancient ruins turned into a modern luxury hotel - renovations were outstanding. Stay here for an unusual and unforgettable experience.

The room, and staff were fabulous. The old church and grounds were breathtaking with a view of Orvieto. The food was wonderful and added to a quiet peaceful stay.

Fascinating place to stay, but our room was shabbyPosted Oct 12, 2015
The ancient abbey that has been converted into La Badia is awe-inspiring and provides the backdrop for a lovely and unique hotel experience. The staff were excellent, friendly and helpful, and the restaurant food was outstanding. Unfortunately our room was a big disappointment. It appeared to have been last redecorated in the 1980s, cheaply and in a style that was not particularly sympathetic to the grand old structure. Our room was uncomfortable and slightly depressing. We understand that some of the rooms have been updated more recently. This renovation program should be accelerated. The setting of the property is serene, but the location was too far from the town of Orvieto for our needs. If we visit Orvieto again we will look for a hotel within the town walls.

The Badia is a beautiful restored monastery, about 20 min from the center of Orvieto. The breakfast was as good as it could get with very close attention to details. Our only problem, that could be significant was the room that we got, it was not confortable, with a very small bathroom, and only one tiny window for the whole room.... it felt very austere, it was located in the attic. My advice is to double check with the receptionist the options that they can offer, because it felt like a three star hotel. The overall experience is good because of the beauty of the building and commom areas.

Beautiful settingPosted Sep 24, 2015 on Hotels
We had read the reviews, so very aware this hotel was out of town. Loved the location, only a 5 minute drive into town and was easy to get there by car. Most comfortable bed so far and a great selection for breakfast.

Amazing hotel located near OrvietoPosted Aug 17, 2015 on Hotels
This was an amazing hotel. From the moment we got there the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The facilities at the hotel were also really good, the "hidden" swimming pool was great, and the restaurant was fantastic. I'm running out of adjectives to describe how much I loved this place, but I am definitely going to be booking a return trip

Food was mediocre but atmosphere was incrediblePosted Aug 14, 2015
The visual experience was incredible but the place lacked a soul, very dry no spirit just pretty things to look at... That's all
