Good spot for view's over Tewkesbury.

Posted Dec 6, 2016
Pros: Cheerful warm! a log fire. Bright. Good food. Sauna steam room.
Cons: Pool to cold. Another dish for vegetarian without mushrooms.
Location: The abbey. Unique shops to shop or browse. the bell hotel full of history! Great cafes and pubs. The ham river. Character buildings. Chemist ect.
Enjoyed the view from the bedroom. Walking around the grounds. Being in the bar next to the log fire in the eve .using the steam room.. A swim but very cold. Liked the library the comfortable area to read interesting books of the shelves. Thought the carpet through the corridor's very tasteful. Food well cooked.

Beautiful Location close to town & Abbey

Posted Oct 28, 2016
Pros: Rooms are quiet, lovely views over golf course, swimming pool lovely too
Cons: A room with two people and a kettle provided shouldn't have to keep asking for more than one teabag each for every 24 hours!
Location: Very close to Abbey and high street but you would want to use a car. Driving distance from many walks, Cotswolds, Wales, Gloucester,

Below average

Bathroom resembles a small cupboard. Sink plinth protrudes, little room to turn around. Room 111 adjoins staff quarters very noisy in late evening and early mornings. Fire doors and cupboard doors slamming throughout. Walls very thin constant conversation from adjoining rooms. Disabled blue badge bays used by first come builders and none disabled residents. Reception staff unsimpathic to complaints. Dining area and food excellent. Totally unsuitable for disabled.

Beautiful views

Lovely hotel. Special thanks to Alistair who went out of his way to find a substitute cot for our 1 year grandson to sleep on. Suggest more cots are made available.

Relaxing hotel in a beautiful setting.

Posted May 22, 2016
Pros: Smart new fit out without feeling pretentious
Cons: Footpaths around the grounds for non-golfing customers so that they can enjoy the unique setting.
Location: Hotel is in a lovely elevated spot above the River Severn with views over surrounding countryside.
Two couples wishing to enjoy each others company in pleasant surroundings. There was a wedding taking place on the same day but it in no way spoilt our enjoyment of the weekend. The rooms were very quiet, with no noise coming from the bars and restaurants.

Working hard to improve.

Posted Dec 7, 2015
Pros: The setting in lovely Gloucestershire.
Cons: Staff awareness of hotel amenities.
Location: Tewkesbury is a largely unspoiled medieval market town (12 miles from sophisticated) and on the border of Monmouthshire with border towns.
A residential country hotel trying also to be a spa is a difficult combination. The public rooms have recently completed a garish renovation. They look good but do not warmly welcome. Apart from the bar there is nowhere to sit and let time go by. The standard rooms are very small but well-appointed. Staff is universally friendly and willing, but, apart from the head lady in the dining-room, rather inexperienced. I had prepaid my room for five days; but it was still charged again (and rapidly corrected) on my check-out statement. A paradise if you play golf . .

Malvern Show visit

Posted Oct 4, 2015
Pros: Great views across golf course. lovely restaurant, good choice of breakfasts and good value evening meals. Comfortable tastefully furnished throughout
Cons: Check in on arrival could be more efficient.
Location: Close to good places of interest to visit: Malvern Hills, gardens, 3 Counties shows.
Enjoyable weekend staying in this ideally situated hotel for visiting the Malvern Autumn Show. The hotel is undergoing refurbishment of all rooms and compared to when we stayed there last year, the bedrooms and bathrooms are greatly improved. Furnishings and décor very tasteful and good quality. Had a lovely 3 course meal in the restaurant which was very reasonably priced. The restaurant staff were very attentive and helpful.
