Working hard to improve.

A residential country hotel trying also to be a spa is a difficult combination. The public rooms have recently completed a garish renovation. They look good but do not warmly welcome. Apart from the bar there is nowhere to sit and let time go by. The standard rooms are very small but well-appointed.
Staff is universally friendly and willing, but, apart from the head lady in the dining-room, rather inexperienced. I had prepaid my room for five days; but it was still charged again (and rapidly corrected) on my check-out statement.
A paradise if you play golf . .
