Stayed in a room with a jacuzzi and fireplace. Very tidy and clean. Snafu with the TV remote (wrong one in the room?) cleared up quickly by the day staff. I'd stay again.

Friendly staff made up for everything else

Hotel was a little old but rooms were spacious and very clean. Staff were extremely friendly and were genuinely interested in the comfort of every guest's stay.

Will try to avoid in the future, unless impossible

Posted Aug 5, 2015
Pros: Clean room and comfortable bed.
Cons: Enforce a non-smoking policy (or have non-smoking rooms available), reduce the number of tables or expand food service into the adjoining room.
Location: We were visiting family so did not do much (although the countryside is beautiful with many opportunities for photo bugs).
This hotel was the closed to local family (whose house was too small to accommodate us) with available rooms. The initial impression was marred by the fact that the security door on one side could not close, and the frame was actually falling away from the building. Not much security there! The staff told us this went unnoticed since no one ever uses that door (which suggests no one inspects the premises on a regular basis). The room was clean and the bed very comfortable. However, it was obvious that the cleaning service had used a powerful air freshener to disguise the fact that someone had smoked in the room (but it was still obvious). Our clothing still smelled of cigarette smoke after we had checked out. Most disappointing was the included breakfast. The food was typical of that offered in such venues (although the bacon was literally transparent). But the room was so small, that if someone was seated, there was no way to easily pass between them and the chairs of the next table. Getting from your table to the food service areas was like a maze with no easy path. We gave up on it and went to Flo's Diner a block down the street for a good breakfast that we could actually get to.

Great central location for Berkshires

Posted Jul 16, 2015
Pros: I liked the location, free breakfast, and the large size of the room.
Cons: The noise between rooms could be improved.
Location: This hotel is in a great location if you'd like to do a variety of things in the Berkshires.
This hotel is in a great location for doing lots of stuff in the Berkshires (Shakespeare & Company, The Clark, The Mount, hiking, etc.). There is an included breakfast, which is very convenient. The only negative is that the rooms aren't well insulated, so you'll hear your neighbors above and next to you.

Great hotel for Tanglewood visit

Posted Jul 6, 2015
Great hotel located on the western edge of Pittsfield, 15 minute drive to Tanglewood, where we were attending a concert. Easy check in, friendly, helpful staff. Very nice room, spacious, clean, and well appointed. The entire hotel was well maintained. Breakfast was quite good, and the hostess was constantly replenishing hot and cold food items. Quiet location.

A mixed bag

The room itself was updated and pretty clean, especially the bathroom. However the AC did not work well and there was a very intense chemical smell in the room - not sure if this was disinfectant or some other cleaning fluid. Also the walls were extremely thin and I could hear what sounded like normal intensity conversations on either sides of my room.
