Comfortable and Welcoming B&B in the Berkshires

Posted Jul 7, 2015 on Hotels
We loved our stay at the Birchwood Inn during a long weekend trip to see a show at Tanglewood. The inn is spacious and beautiful with a wonderful large library with a fireplace and books and board games. The staff is amazingly hospitable and welcoming and the breakfasts are delicious! They were happy to accommodate any dietary restrictions/preferences. They also make homemade treats left in the common kitchen area for a before bed snack! Try are dog-friendly and there are two adorable dogs that live there so that's a plus for pet lovers. We would definitely recommend the Birchwood Inn for anyone looking for a weekend away in the Berkshires.

Lovely old house

Posted Aug 8, 2014
Pros: Good location. Lovely house and yard. Clean.
Cons: The breakfast.
Location: Good restaurants. Tanglewood.
The people here were very nice, but we had the misfortune of not having a bathroom in the room. If you go, do not take room 2. The air conditioning is a window unit, so fortunately, it wasn't too warm. Also, though they have both a cooked breakfast and cereal (cheerios only) they don't ask you ahead of time which you want and cook for you ahead of time. Like most B & B's this one was quirky. Rooms and rest of the house very clean and, and, though the house is on the corner of two busy roads, after dark it's quiet and the place is close to the center of town.

Nice B&B in the Berkshires

I liked the hotel but wish I had booked a different room. The Loring #10 is cramped and the price isn't that much different from the other rooms. Also, it gets very hot at night since it's on the 3rd floor.
