Hugh,My apologies that we did not love up to your expectations. Me and my Wife purposefully stayed out of your way only appearing to ask if you need anything and reminding you we are always just a call away as that is part of the privacy we market. Chambery has never been or marketed the traditional bed and breakfast experience that forces people to congregate in common areas. Our focus is on our three R's of Rest, Relaxation and Rejuvenation. Being the only place main street we feel we offer the best of both worlds allowing you privacy and room-delivered breakfast at the inn and congregation if desired at the many breakfast counters, restaurants, sports bars, libraries and other establishments you can easily walk to. Non-direct reservations through most third parties including your stay 3 get one free night reservation was discounted and disclosed several times to not include the room-delivered breakfast. We feel 25 is a fair price for preparing and delivering breakfast for 2 to your room.

Thank you for the Feedback! Chambery only has 9 rooms and is directly on Main Street, our standard rooms are our most economical option. Our 2 standard rooms are on the ground level and heavily requested by those passing through or only staying a night or two as they are closest to the parking lot and rear access door. We equate these to local Hilton and Marriott products and normally price in that range. If you are really looking to enjoy the romance of the building we very much suggest booking one of our historic schoolhouse rooms upstairs. We have found coffee to be very subjective and strive to cover all our bases, in-room coffee usee Folgers, room-delivered breakfasts feature green mountain, and our Keurig / Nespresso stations feature Starbucks, Dunkin McCafe, Donut Man, and any other popular option we can find at the local supermarket. Chambery Inn has been known as an Inn for more than 30 years and over time expectations of an Inn have changed. AirBnb has closed over 80% of inns in our area since it started and we take cues on what works to survive. This mostly includes Express Check-in welcome bags, Express checkout email receipts, and Staff working in the background available by phone and not sitting at the door. Historically we have never had a common area and focus on room-delivered services and privacy the larger rooms deliver, for those looking to sit around a common table at the Inn we have never been the place. The trade-off is as the only main street location around you can simply walk out the door and sit at the breakfast counter at Historic Joe's Diner, Sports bar at Locker Room, Whiskey bar at Moe's or wine bar at Cafe Triskele among many others then simply walk back to your room when your done interacting with people and get a restful nights sleep without the noise of a common area. Kudos if you read all this as I know it is long! We really try and make sure people have as much information as possible to be sure we are the right fit! Dona,Our apologies for not living up to your expectations! There was no breakfast menu in your welcome bag as you did not pay for breakfast. The young employee (Duhan) made it for you out of the kindness of his heart and did not charge you. As we are an old schoolhouse on main street we do not have a full commercial kitchen and our room delivered breakfast baskets are items like fresh baked muffins, scones, quiche etc. Third party sites like hotels.com charge 25 per night for these room delivered breakfast baskets. This should be well advertised both when booking your room, in confirmation letters, and welcome letter (stating breakfast cards are available for 25 per night) and many guests choose to save a little on the room and not to get breakfast here as there is a Historic Joe's Diner next door, Starving Artist coffee house and creperie, and Rose's upscale breakfast options all within walking distance of our front door. Again sorry to hear you did not enjoy your stay and wish we could have gotten the option to explain this in person. All the best,Bob

Our building is not only old but in fact a Historic Landmark and has undergone many extensive restorations to preserve its character including recently in 2020! We realize coffee is subjective and try to cover our bases. In-room coffee options in our standard rooms are Folgers which has been a popular brand people are familiar with. Most other popular options are available in our foyer coffee tea area including, Starbucks, Dunkin, Green Mountian, Donut Man, Nespresso, etc. and a short walk down the main street will get you to some fantastic coffee shops including fresh locally roasted options at Starving Artist! Thank you for your review Robert! Unfortunately, we have had to adjust the menu throughout the impact of covid as some products are limited for order as well as occupancy, but soon we hope to be running at a new normal back to our larger prepared breakfasts. We hope to see you again in the future!
