The gourmet breakfasts were outstanding in this low key, charming b&b. Our room was quite small and the bathroom was tiny, but we loved the whole experience. The hosts were were solicitous and friendly, but not overly so as happens in many other places.

Right down the road from StockbridgePosted Sep 13, 2015
We had a lovely stay in this period Inn. The owners were delightful, our room, Yale Hill, was lovely, and the breakfast was delicious. I'm Gluten Free, and they easily accommodated. Stockbridge is right down the street. We visited the Clark Museum, Norman Rockwell Museum, and had dinner at the Red Lion Inn. A wonderful weekend!

B&B in the BershiresPosted Aug 21, 2015
Pros: The hotel is very close to where you may want to visit and things to do. Chocolates, brandy, and a nice living area to enjoy it were all provided.
Cons: From our room (Beartown) there is noticeable road-noise if the windows are left open, which detracted from the delightful forest setting.
Location: Local towns and events (Tanglewood).
Stayed for two nights in August in order to attend a Tanglewood concert. See Naumkeg House if you have a chance, it a lovely perfectly maintained summer home that has tours and beautiful gardens.

Charming bed and breakfast close to TanglewoodPosted Jul 2, 2015
Booked because of convenience to Tanglewood and other favorable guest reviews. Stayed in Skylight Suite which was charming and spacious. Bathrooms were dated but spotlessly clean and hot water, toiletries & towels were plentiful. Breakfast was delicious and beautifully presented. We were not able to take advantage of the cheese and wine offered nightly in the drawing room but heard rave reviews from other guests

Hospitality, Serenity & much morePosted Jun 6, 2015 on Hotels
We arrived hours before check-in, but the owner was very accommodating, letting us leave our belonging in our room anyway. We enjoyed early evening wine and cheese and sat outside on the front porch to unwind, taking in the beautiful scene that is the front yard of the Inn. It was so relaxing we had to force ourselves to get up and get ready for dinner. We felt right at home in The Yale Hill Room, a cozy bedroom on the 2nd floor at the back of the Inn with its own bathroom and three windows - each providing a wonderful view of the side yard garden, back hillside and endless bright green lawns. The natural sounds of birds chirping and leaves rustling in the wind from the thick greenery behind the Inn really rounded everything out for us. After a great night of sleep, we made our way down to the dining room for breakfast, where Brian, the other owner, poured us coffee and a choice of pomegranate or orange juice. The meal started with a fresh, fruit salad of watermelon and strawberries followed by a warm banana nut muffin. Then the main course, stuffed French toast topped with thinly sliced apples and warm maple syrup and a side of crispy bacon strips. There really is something to be said about not ordering off a menu and just letting your gracious hosts cook something special for you. This truly was the perfect ending to a wonderful stay at the Federal House Inn. Thank you for everything.

We enjoyed everything about our two-night stay. Our room was spacious, clean and well appointed. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Kolleen and Brian who own and run the inn are gracious and professional. Highly recommend!

weekend getawayPosted Apr 22, 2015 on Hotels
The owners were very cordial and the location was in a central location for anything from Lenox to Great Barrington. Oh, the living room is a good and relaxing place to socialize with other guests.
