"Good, Clean, Friendly Hotel off the beaten track"
As reviewed by our peers, we found the "road in" a little strange, but not intimidating ------- just had to pass a few "mobiles" on a little road up a hill. True to the other reviews, the "staff" ( Shana, initially, in this case) was exceptionally friendly and helpful, and mentioned immediately the complimentary glass of "house wine". Lovely view, nice 'patio' dining or lounging (with a fire pit if needed) ------ perfect for summer mornings and evenings, and probably a treat in cooler weather, too. Our (well) air-conditioned room was inviting and VERY clean. My spouse was quite 'taken' with the 'spiffy' shower. Furnishings of a modern bent ------- relaxing and appealing. Definitely no complaints about the bed (a king-size in our case) with a "view" of the dam and the Columbia River right down the hill. I believe the "queen" beds result in no view since they are part of the units across the road from the bluff that creates the view. The breakfast was more-than-adequate-----cereals, fruit, pastries, bagels, coffee, juice, yogurt, etc.. The staff person in the morning was Zaira, again very friendly and helpful. The reviews that mentioned the Baldwin Saloon were "right on", an excellent experience with great wait staff. We walked down to the pool, but didn't "dip in" but only because of time limitations------there were towels provided there, and the pool temp was quite reasonable. All-in-all, this was a very enjoyable overnight stay, and we definitely recommend it.
