"Lovely old style hotel, central location"
We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. The room, although small, was fine for a city break. Brilliant central location. Torrential rain on our first day and the hotel was able to supply us with umbrellas which was a life saver! Metro easy to use.....plenty of museums, restaurants and we loved the historical Freedom Trail, plus ferry tour.

"No bar in room."
I wanted a late night cocktail. When I opened the cabinet where the fridge with drinks is supposed to be, to my dismay, there wasn't any. To make matters worse, an incredibly gorgeous woman knocked on my door, wanting to have a drink with me, and I couldn't offer her a drink. Come to find out, she didn't have a fridge with drinks either.

"Great central location, very helpful staff"
I surprised my husband for an extended weekend in Boston and picked the Ames based on other's reviews and location. I can honestly say they delivered in every aspect. We arrived very early in the morning, around 6:45 am, via the red eye from southern California. Our room was obviously not yet ready. We checked our luggage, and were told we would be contacted when our room had been vacated, cleaned, and prepped for our stay. I was thrilled when we were called before 10:00 am that our room was ready. It was cleaned to my very high standards. The only thing I would say about the room itself was that the shower did not have a door by design, and the water leaked out all over the floor due to what appeared to be tiles slanted the wrong way. Not so much an issue, but we were sure to put extra towels outside the shower to catch the water. The bellhop was very nice and friendly, as was each and every front desk staff person we encountered. I actually chose this hotel over another due to the helpfulness and friendliness of the front desk staff when I called asking various questions prior to our booking. I have to say though, that Charles at the concierge desk, was superb! He gave us extraordinary tips for a great bar to go to before the Red Sox game, and worked very hard the next evening to get us a reservation at a high end restaurant on a Saturday night. Overall, great trip, great hotel, great staff! Would highly recommend to anyone traveling to Boston!

"Very nice hotel located in Downtown Boston"
The Fairmont is a great hotel close to everything in downtown Boston. Less than a block for a "T" station and bus routes as well. A quick bus or cab ride in from Logan airport and you're set to enjoy all Boston has to offer, from good food, to shows, to historical sites and tours.

"Historic Hotel with a Cruise Atmosphere"
This was a historic landmark converted to timeshares with some units available as hotel rentals. Excellent location for all things Boston. Daily activities to keep kids and adults engaged. Only a couple of downfalls - rooms on 1st floor were noisy due to proximity to the "Counting Room" activity room (mostly live music which really was fine) and the internet was terrible. The business center was basically useless due to bad internet and the desktop was only configured for printing boarding passes - made all other websites mess up. Overall, I would recommend this hotel and stay there again without question. I loved it. Next time, I will just bring my mobile hotspot and laptop.

Very well located for walking to see the historic sites of Boston. The room was small but there was a lounge just off of the lobby that was comfortable and a great place to bring and share a bottle of wine.
