Clean basic hotel

Posted Oct 21, 2016
I recently stayed at The Hague for business and stayed at the Movenpick. I found the staff very helpful and very friendly. The room was basic but clean and tidy. I found breakfast to be slightly over priced however, i did have a good choice. My evening meal at the hotel was very enjoyable and again the staff were wonderful.

Nice hotel close to a Railway station

Posted Sep 13, 2016
Pros: Everything was fine
Location: 5 minutes by train to central station.
We had no issues, the hotel was comfortable and we were well looked after and allowed an early check in.

Stained carpet, tired and shabby!

Posted Sep 12, 2016 on Wotif
Pros: Location to transport.
Cons: New carpet or thoroughly professionally cleaned.
Location: Cute typically Dutch village nearby.
This is the second time in a month I stayed. The room I was given was disappointing. The carpet was disgusting. Badly stained and marked.

Slept in a conference room . . .

Posted May 12, 2016
The lobby staff were very sympathetic, when they were unable to give us our room even although we had a valid conf# as well as the itinerary # from Expedia. Normally, we would simply have used another hotel but EVERYWHERE was full that night. Having taken a train from Schipol to get there, and knowing there was nowhere else to go, we patiently waited at the front desk (we refused to leave) while the clerk tried to sort it out. Firstly, the rep from Expedia hung up on him when he asked what they could do to help, then a few more reps we're called, with both of us repeating the story and asking for help, and the Expedia reps bounced us to different reps . . . Ultimately, knowing that Bjorn would have no luck finding another hotel for us, I said fold-down beds in a conference room would be fine - we just need somewhere to sleep - which they quickly arranged. The hotel was fine, and the staff were very helpful & sympathetic, but we didn't get to try out an actual room, so I can't comment on that. Kudos to Bjorn for working with us and avoiding us having to sleep in the train station. The staff really were great. Overbooking is just as prevalent in the hotel business as it is at the airlines. Most of the time they can usually move you somewhere else, but when there's some major event going on in town, watch out. I used to call ahead when I knew I would be late checking in, and warn them to NOT give my room away - I guess I need to start doing that again

mixed good hotel disapointed at the room service

Posted Apr 27, 2016 on Hotels
Hotel was good not much in the area to see though. We came back from a walk at 7.30 and tried to get a table in the restaurant was told they were busy with a coach load of people so we thought we would have room service after 10 calls to the kitchen and it getting cut of every time, we went down to reception to complain and were told they were to busy to cook our food until 9pm we were very annoyed as we were hotel guests just like anyone else who was there. we eventually got to order food at 9.15 and got our food 1/2 hr later much to late in the evening

Nice Hotel good for business class travelers

Pros: Loved the front desk staff.
Cons: Provide at least two bath towels
Excellent staff. Only one towel for two people. The shower is difficult to use.
