Great staff, safe place, clean bed...

Posted Sep 19, 2017
Cons: The carpets in the common areas need a good cleaning.
Location: Art museum, Millenium park, barroque fountain, stores and food all at short walking distances... amazing location!
All I was hoping for the great price I paid... Location is unbeatable. I was in a 6 women (3 bunks) bedroom, all nice girls, each comes and goes at different hours so if you are a light sleeper you get woken up. The facilities are a little bit run down but my bed was clean and I felt safe. I will stay here again if I come by myself! I spent my money on nice food and tourism instead of on an expensive hotel.

GREAT PLACE TO STAY

Posted Sep 16, 2017
Pros: EVERYTHING
Cons: NONE
Location: THE MAIN POINTS OF CHICAGO ARE THERE
Well located, this is the most beautiful hostel in which I have spent my days. The breakfast is good, the organization is perfect and you have a sensation that it is a safe place to stay in Chicago. THE LOCALIZATION IS SIMPLY PERFECT. ENJOY

Like a European Hostel

Posted Sep 12, 2017
Pros: Like a European hostel
Location: Good location
This is a big hostel, with lots of room and lots of activities. It is clean, comfortable, cosmopolitan. It reminded me of youth hostels in Europe. Rare to find in the US!

Thanks for your feedback. It is appreciated. Temperature is a challenge as multiple people share a room and it's difficult to maintain a temperature that is suitable for all.

Good. The whole building is spatial. There is pantry on every floor and the 2nd floor containing the main canteen and pool tables is the best place in the hostel!

Awesome location, great facilities, ok breakfast

Posted Aug 23, 2017
Really central hostel. Big airy rooms, comfy bunk bed. Large lockers (bring your own padlock). Very helpful staff - they put on loads of events and walking tours and are really knowledgeable about the area and things to do. The free breakfast is fine but there's not much in the way of fresh produce (apples and bananas, muffins, toast, bagels, cheese, meat, oatmeal, cereal, coffee, tea, OJ).

Close to the South Shore Van Buren train station.

Pros: above
Cons: above
Location: Close to Soldier Field and the museums.
HI is adequate lodging for a quick overnight Chicago visit. It is a hostel, so amenities are minimal--no air conditioning or TV in the rooms. The facility is adjacent to the L -- thus "white noise" is a must for light sleepers. Breakfast is healthy, but simple. The majority of guests are college aged.

Great Hostel

Posted Jul 19, 2017
My stay at this hostel was very pleasant. The staff was very kind and helpful. They have happy hour with free alcohol on Fridays and many activities for guests, such as walking tours (free) and jazz/comedy club outings. The rooms are a decent size, and there is a big meeting room area to hang out, eat, play games, and meet new people. I noticed the bed linens had some hairs and dried spots on them, so they could do a better job with cleaning. The hostel is in a great location, within easy walking distance to many tourist attractions and very close to Harrison station on the red line.

Central Chicago, in the loop,

Posted Jul 7, 2017
Pros: Location, staff, complimentary breakfast, Rec room.
Location: Millennium Park, about four/five blocks away, Willis Tower in the nearby area, Private Bank Theatre for Hamilton(if you can gets tickets) close by.
The hotel was centrally located from most attractions, Willis Tower, 103 stories up high, close to the riverwalk with shops, recreational activities(cruises, bike rentals, etc.) about twenty minute ride on the RED line from Downtown to Wrigley field to watch the Cubs play. Millennium Park, great place to see different attractions like the open pavilion(chamber music), Rock Climbing/Roller Skating and Mini-golf at Maggie Dailey Park across the bridge. Bike rentals(Bobby's Bike Rentals) around Lake Front Trail near the beach. Spent the last night of my stay going to see the Broadway Hit, "Hamilton" at Private Bank Theatre on Monroe, great staff/location/ and theatre layout. One of the best, if not the best show I have ever seen. Great experiences in a short time, met a few people, had a great time.
