Chemical Cover Up

Pros: close to my class
Cons: clean the rooms
Smelled like someone dumped a ton of frebreeze to cover up some stink. Smell was so strong it irritated breathing, floors dirty sheets dirty

AVOID AT ALL COST

I will never stay at this location again. During Hurricane Harvey, my family got flooded out of their home. In an effort to find them somewhere to stay, I called this hotel and asked if they had rooms available. The guy said yes, come on in. So I made a reservation on hotels.com because I wanted the rewards for the nights, and went into the hotel about 30 minutes later. The guy at the front desk was telling a guest ahead of me that rooms were $90+/night (hotels.com had listed the reservation at $52/night). I was up next, told the man I had a reservation, and he told me no, he wouldn't honor the hotels.com booking. When I asked why, he told me they had no rooms left, sorry. I got on the phone with my daughter who had helped book the room and was telling her the problem when the man said he wouldn't honor the reservation or the price I paid. In the middle of this argument, a woman came out of the back office, quietly got on the computer and booked me a room. I got to the room and the door was wide open (and it had been raining sideways for hours) and the room was very wet. I told the front desk of the problem and they said to "take the room or leave it". The bed wasn't wet and I had no where else to go so I took it, but I have never experienced such horrendous service my entire life. This was a bad mark on not only the hotel, but on hotels.com for doing business with this hotel.

Good hotel, great price, great area

Room was recently updated. Breakfast was very sparse, just fruit and cereal. Many restaurants near by offering meals from $ to $$$. Early morning and mid afternoon present difficulty leaving the parking lot due to schools nearby.

Needs a lot of improvement.

Smell in the bathroom was not good (possibly used of a dirty mop). Corners on bases of beds are squared making it easily to hit you in the knees. The door in the bathroom did not close. Smell of smoking was noticeable in the room(smoking detector was covered with a plastic bag), so we were transferred to another room. The new room given was better, ironically had no smoking detector in it.

If you want an inexpensive place to stay

Pros: It was convenient to where I needed to be. The staff was friendly and helpful.
Cons: Better breakfast
For me this hotel worked out but I would not ask my wife to stay. The rooms are dated and my room was only cleaned every other day. The continental breakfast left a lot to be desired. There were several problems in the unit that the staff took care of right away.
