A Unique Hotel

Posted Nov 11, 2016 on Hotels
A small quiet hotel with very personal service. Staff are very welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. Rooms vary i.e. We paid for a Heritage Classic' room as did our friends. Ours was tiny whereas their room was big and spacious. If you want to get away from it all the location is perfect. Spa is very good.

Beautiful Retreat and super relaxing

Posted Oct 13, 2016 on Hotels
It was great. Beautiful surroundings. Just note, that the hotel allows kids, and there is no separate kids area- so they are in the general 'adults area'. Its great for a honeymoon. The hotel was received an award for best spa in india 2015 & 2016 which is great. Ideal for a honeymoon or even a short 6 day trip to get some sun.

Great place for the more agile...

Posted Sep 22, 2016 on Hotels
Property was lovely but not suitable for older individuals. Lots of Ups & Downs and hotel restaurant not closeby tho' there is golf cart transportation. Nor is the place safe for young children as lots of areas on the ground do not have railings etc

A gorgeous and peaceful retreat

Posted Apr 6, 2016
Pros: Mercifully cut off from everyday Indian life -- when we returned after a trip out, we were very thankful to retreat behind the big wooden gates
Cons: Western visitors expect higher-quality bath and bed linens
Location: Views of the sea, and the secluded beach, are better than anything in the area. Otherwise there isn't much to see or do in the vicinity
This is a very special place, tranquil, clean and safe. But don't go expecting Western standards of luxury -- what you are paying for is an unrivalled position overlooking the Arabian Sea, the lush and well-kept grounds, authentic Keralan architecture, and a friendly staff. Do book one of the Heritage premium cottages as near to the sea as possible, and immerse yourself in this green paradise. A week-long stay taking advantage of the (rather expensive) Ayurvedic therapies would be an ideal way to unwind after a wider-ranging tour of India, or for a self-indulgent break. You have everything you need on-site, so you don't have to brave Trivandrum or Kovalam (neither worth it). The Indian dishes in the cafe are delicious and good value; the boutique has some nice things, well priced especially with the generous discount offered. Enjoy!

Superb Property but Slow Service

Posted Feb 19, 2016
Pros: The hotel is beautiful and the private beach is simply out of this world
Cons: Service should be improved, they go out of their way to make you comfortable, but you need to remind them a couple of times for the extra bed etc.
Location: The drive to Kanyakumari was 2 hours and well worth it
The hotel is beautiful and the location is great, but if you have problem with walking or knees then you have to rethink going here. There is lots of walking to do to get to the rooms etc. Also service is not as fast as expected, you have to repeat the request a couple of times to get it done.

Exceptional holiday experience.

Posted Feb 7, 2016
Pros: Everything - but mostly the peaceful surroundings and the attentive staff.
What a fabulous holiday. Wonderful accommodation overlooking the Arabian Sea. Staff could not be more accommodating, and the food is wonderful. The chef is first class. A great Ayurvedic Spa on site. If you're looking for somewhere to rest, relax, reflect, rejuvenate and be thoroughly spoilt, then this is the place. Loved waking up each morning to the singing of the fisherman on the beach and going to sleep each night to the sound of the waves crashing on the shore. Opportunities to observe local crafts, including pottery from a national champion, seeing handbags made out of coconut palms, and having your fortune told by a parrot. Without question, the best holiday I have ever had.
