Hotel not to bad. Probably won’t use Expedia again as price printout from hotel was close to 100$ less than I paid Expedia. I was under the impression that you helped people save money. Thanks anyway.

You can do far better elsewhere in Thunder Bay

Pros: towels and the bed
Cons: hire an exterminator to deal with the bug issue clean or replace the carpeting sweep up the sand in HC parking repair the access from street
Location: McDonalds, A&W, and Tim Hortens are all close-by. You'll need one of them to get a breakfast that you won't get at the hotel.
I'll start with the positives, as there weren't many. - Soft, fluffy white towels in the washroom, some of the best I've ever seen in a hotel - Comfortable bed (pillows, not so much, but the bed was nice) Negatives: - Access from the street requires driving across a deep and wide crater that runs parallel to the street and curb. They could do well by filling it with some asphalt or concrete. If you have a vehicle with low profile tires, you'll need to enter and exit slow, and at a slight angle to avoid damaging your rims. - Handicapped parking spaces - 2 for the entire hotel, which I would estimate has somewhere around 100+ rooms, are covered with a layer of find sand. Probably left over from winter when they were attempting to prevent slippage on ice (good practice), but it needs to be swept up come spring, because now it just creates a slip hazard for people getting in and out of their vehicles - When I climbed under my desk to plug in my computer, I was met with some small black bugs. Not bed bugs, something closer akin to ants perhaps. - No electrical outlets near the side of the bed. If you need to plug in your phone, or use a CPAP, this is a big problem - Floor carpeting was pretty dirty. - Free breakfast is worth what you paid for it. No hot entrees (the waffle machine is broken), so you could make toast and have some yogurt, fruit, or cold cereal. Overall, this place has seen better days. Likely a few decades ago.

Thanks for your feedback! We're pleased to say that the potholes in our parking lot were fixed within the last couple of days. We are assessing the layout of the rooms so that we can optimize outlet availability and usage. We will be discussing our options for cleaning up the sand in the parking lot. We will be addressing the black bugs, carpet, and pancake machine.

Staff was nice, helpful and accommodating. The room smelt musty , ants in the bathroom, a high pitch noise annoyed me until I tracked to the phone which I had to disconnect to stop it. The hotel is smoke free but any doors you go by reeks cigarettes.breakfast was decent.

Room was very small. Very small window. If there had been a fire, no way out

We're sorry you weren't happy with your stay. Unfortunately due to how the hotel was built we do have some rooms that are smaller than others, as well as some with smaller windows. You can certainly request to be in a different area when booking and we will do our best to accommodate.

Not as good as expected

We had a very small room and small bed and the hotel clerk was very helpful in moving us. The hotel needs upgrading and to finish off my stay a homeless guy came into the breakfast room and was harassing me for money. He kept bothering me

We're sorry you weren't fully satisfied with your stay. Unfortunately some of our rooms are smaller than others, but we're glad that the staff were able to move you to a more comfortable room. We are looking to do some upgrades as a whole to the hotel over the next couple of years. The gentleman in the breakfast room should not have been there and we apologize that you had to encounter him. We will be addressing this with our staff immediately to ensure that proper safety procedures are being followed and that only the hotel guests are using the facilities. Thanks for letting us know!

We're glad you enjoyed your stay. We're sorry that the configuration of the hotel can be a bit confusing sometimes - the hotel was added on throughout the years rather than having everything built at one time.
